I imagine Richard would have a very hard time with the position he is put in with becoming the new Lord Rahl. He finally understands what Kahlan's life has always been like first-hand.

The part where Kahlan is having nightmares and Richard lays beside her is very touching. *le sigh*

oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh... this was AMAZING. holy crap. i love every single thing about this. why? i've no idea, or i can't pinpoint it anyway. it's just made of so much win. like... wow.

very much in character, very much as i see it all happening and just very, very awesome. the bittersweet moments between richard and kahlan kill me because it's so precious. i love richard's reluctance to being a leader - even though he's a natural one - and his reluctance to accept that kahlan is anything but his friend (and almost-lover) kahlan. gorgeous.

Thank you so much for this very lovely comment. I do love Richard and Kahlan, they're very different and a lot alike to my other favourit couple Lois and Clark, it's just nice to see two people who know each other, even if they can't be together.

Very cool fic, nicely written. I love that you mentioned read ears. One of the amusing things about the show is that Richard's ears always seem to redden when in a romantic scene with Kahlan. ;)
