She watched his every move. He was washing dishes now. It was 9 pm. At this hour he usually read a book, made a phone call or two and eventually would fall asleep on the couch. For some reason he changed his routine. She wondered why, but didn't think too much of it. Instead she enjoyed the view from her living room window.
Miles Bletchley had moved into the flat next to Alicia Spinnet's about a month ago. At first the Gryffindor failed to notice such a change, but this wouldn't remain that way for long. One day when she was returning from the grocery store she ran into him. Unfortunately it wasn't a very nice meeting. Miles had bumped into her, causing all of her bags to fall all over the place. She leered at him.
"Watch where you're going," she hissed.
"I'm sorry. Let me help you with that," Miles replied, not realizing who he was helping.
The minute their eyes met both of them yelled, "You!"
"Well well well if it isn't Ms. Gryffindor Chaser. I didn't think I've ever run into you again. What are you doing in this neighborhood? Bringing people their groceries? Oh that's so kind of you. I didn't know you cared," he sneered.
"I'm not bringing anyone their groceries. I live in this neighborhood. Now if you'll excuse me," she snapped, as she snatched her bags away from him.
Miles blocked her path. "I didn't know you could afford to live in this neighborhood."
"Where I can and can't afford to live is none of your business."
"What if I make it my business?"
"That's your problem. Not mine," she snapped as she pushed past him. She didn't look back, but knew she would have to keep an eye on the Slytherin Keeper. That's what she had done for the past few months. Now that he was asleep once more she would take it upon herself to find out what he was up to. She apparated to his flat promptly.
When she got there she slowly walked to his room to find something incriminating. She glanced over her shoulder every now and then to make sure he was still sleeping. She reached his room with no incident. She immediately started to open cabinets and look under his bed. She was as silent as she could possibly be. After searching for about 10 minutes she found a letter. It was from his mother. She never got to read it because Miles burst in on her.
"What are you doing in my room? In my flat? This is breaking and entering you know," he told her.
She quickly got up to get away but Miles pushed her, causing her to lose her balance momentarily. She tripped over something she had left on the floor and hit her head against Miles' bed post. A small crack sound was heard. Her vision was blurry as she felt the letter get snatched from her hands. She touched her head and could feel something warm. Once her vision cleared she looked at her hand and noticed the blood.
"Oh poor Spinnet. You injured yourself. Don't worry. I'll heal you. Don't think you're leaving this flat any time soon either. No, you got yourself in here and now you're mine for as long as I wish you to be."
Alicia could only stare at Miles in awe. Now she was cursing herself for ever deciding to spy on Miles Bletchley, break into his flat and trying to find something incriminating about him.
