Miles and Alicia talked until twilight came. Alicia's tears and scrunched up face hurt Miles more than he would ever admit. He hated the way she looked at him, he hated the fear in her eyes and her body was tense the entire time they talked. He tried to hug her three times, but each time she rejected him. It was too much to bear for her. It was bad enough she had to raise their child alone, but now he knew about it. Miles understood the secrecy, but couldn't stop himself from being angry.

"I'm going to have to obliviate you after we finish talking," Alicia confessed..

Miles' eyes glazed over as he nodded. Alicia wasn't expecting the nod, if anything she expected resistance from him. "You're okay with this?" she asked him. Miles nodded his head again. He didn't feel the need to explain this. He worked for Lord Voldemort after all and that said it all. Alicia hugged him and this caused Miles' breath to catch in his throat. Joshua was fast asleep by then so there was no need to explain anything to him. He wouldn't ask questions any ways.

Alicia got up from her seat, her wand was already in her hand. "Can I give my son a kiss and hug before I forget all of this?" he asked her. She didn't want to agree to this because it hurt her enough to allow him into her home like this. She reluctantly nodded her head as Miles made his way out of her living room. She wept softly into her hands as he said his farewells to his son. In a few minutes he wouldn't remember her, he wouldn't remember their son and she preferred it this way. The world would continue to go on as it was before he walked into her life, except for the joy her son brought her. She would always attribute that to Miles Bletchley and the love they once shared; a love that could be no more as long as Lord Voldemort lived.
