“I can’t believe you’re doing this! You can’t just leave. We’re supposed to work our problems out,” Alicia shrieked as she flailed her hands in front of Miles’ face. She was blocking the bedroom door as Miles packed up his things.
“You can’t believe me? What about you? You should be kicking me out for what I did, but instead you cling to me even more. Our mutual lies are destroying our relationship.”
“You slept with Davies! Davies? Out of all people, you slept with him. I want to know why.”
“Isn’t the answer obvious? I was getting back at you for your lie.”
“It’s not my fault I lost the baby, Miles!”
“That’s not how I see it Spinnet. First off, I know the baby wasn’t mine to begin with. That’s the reason you went to great lengths to have that abortion. Secondly, you lied about the entire situation. Now I’m wrong for having sex with Roger.”
“He’s Roger now? You wanker! You know what, I’m glad I lost the baby. You would’ve never loved it and I would’ve had to do everything by myself. Go on thinking what you will, but I know the truth. You’ve been pining after Roger for years now. You’ve just been looking for an excuse to dump me for him. Well, now you’ve got it. Have a good life.”
With a flick of her wand Miles flew out of their shared flat. His possessions followed shortly after, leaving Miles to wonder if he had been wrong in his approach.
