"You can't do this Alicia. I live here."
"Not anymore. Now please leave before I call the police."
Alicia slammed the door in Miles face. Miles apparated into their flat. Alicia threw her hands up out of exasperation. She ran her fingers through her hair and said, "You're just not getting the message, are you? I don't want to see you. I don't want to have anything to do with you."
"You can't mean that."
"I do."
"We can work through this. Let's talk about this before making any rash decisions."
"What's there to talk about? You cheated on me. I told you going into this that I can tolerate many things, but never that. You don't love me. You don't respect me. What's the point of communicating if neither of these holds true? So save your speech. Save it for someone who cares."
Alicia wanted to blame Marietta for this and a part of her did. She couldn't fully blame her. She and Miles had equal stake in this. In Alicia's mind, her relationship with Miles was over. It hurt more than it should've. It wasn't the betrayal that hurt. What hurt was that a part of her believed she had done something wrong. Why else would Miles cheat on her? She must've been neglecting some aspect of their relationship that he felt he needed and decided to find elsewhere.
Miles gave up for now, deciding it was best to go to Terence's home. Terence offered him a scotch when he apparated in. "You made a huge mistake," Terence declared.
Miles glared at him and said, "I know. Are you going to rub it in?"
Terence shook his head and made himself comfortable on his sofa. Miles sat in the armchair beside the sofa and took a sip of his drink. He needed to come up with a plan. Proving his innocence was useless because she caught him in the act, but maybe he could take a more direct approach to winning Alicia back. Around midnight, Terence had fallen asleep and Miles knew this as his chance. He hoped Alicia was asleep too. He apparated over to her home and looked into her bedroom. She was sound asleep. He pulled out his wand, pointed it at Alicia and said, "Imperio."
