It didn't please her keeper that one of the Thomases had escaped persecution. The most important one at that.
Dean Thomas had inside information about the Death Eaters that could prove to be fatal if others knew. He had managed to get his hands on detailed accounts a few Death Eaters foolishly kept track of for bragging purposes. He also figured out a way to reverse the enchantment that had been cast over everyone who was forced to join forces with Death Eaters. He had to be silenced.
Alicia had failed to do this. Not because she had felt compassion of any sort, but because he had went into hiding upon getting suspicious. Alicia had not been careful enough to prevent this and as soon as Dean heard strange noises from his home, he apparated out of sight. Alicia had been so caught up in her murdering spree that it escaped her notice.
Now she was hunting him down because her complete failure meant her life. Miles helped her get information about Dean. Once she acquired this it was time to search high and low. A week passed by and no luck was bestowed upon her by fate. Miles went off to prepare for Alicia's execution. She was aware of this and had grown resign by this time. Five days later her disposition hadn't changed much. She had accepted her fate and would die for not doing her duties.
On the day that Miles departed to get rid of evidence of his own wrong doings, Dean appeared at his home. Alicia was suppose to die later that night. Dean walked quietly through the house in search of Alicia. He had every intention of freeing her from her captivity. Alicia peacefully slept in Miles' bed as this happened. It took about ten minutes for Dean to find her.
"I know you've been looking for me."
"Thomas?" she asked groggily.
"Yes, it's me. I'm here."
"That's quite foolish of you, but so easy for me. Now hold still while I murder you."
"Don't be so quick to judge me based on my actions when I haven't even begun to show you what I'm here for."
This piqued her curiosity. She cautiously reached for her wand, but Dean stopped her by levitating her into the air. She shrieked and flailed. Dean was amused momentarily, but soon began to feel bad for her.
"You've been brainwashed Alicia. You've probably even forgotten about our feelings for each other."
"I could never love you. I could never love anyone. I don't know how to feel."
"I'll change all that. I'll take the enchantment off and you'll be your old self."
"I don't want to be my old self. I'm free in this form and wish to remain this way for as long as I live."
"You can't mean that. I know you well enough to know that."
"You never knew me! That's the point. The sooner you get that through your head the better."
Dean was taken aback by this comment. He had no idea Alicia felt this way. Part of him wanted to believe it was the enchantment, but the rest of him knew better. Without giving it much thought he cast a sleeping spell on Alicia and slung her over his shoulder. Her limp body weighed him down a little, but not much because she was a light girl.
"You're done watching a keeper Aly. It's over now. It's over."
He started to walk out of the room when Miles walked in. Miles didn't have a chance to respond before Dean apparated away before him, taking Alicia with him. Dean's quick thinking got the better of Miles.
