The day had been long. Not necessarily hard, but all the tasks seemed to drag on. Frayed nerves made the hours increase and Michael was more than prepared to just sleep. Of course, that hadn't been an option. So he'd gone to fetch groceries instead, hoping to beat Blue back to his own apartment. He thought he'd succeeded in that simple goal up until he'd already shut the door behind him. The television was on.

Wanting desperately to rub at his temples and stave off a headache, Michael dumped the grocery bags on the kitchen counter, unwilling to put things away just yet. Instead he walked to the livingroom and paused in the doorway. "You've eaten?" he asked blandly, already aware of the answer.

Footsteps. Blue perked but didn't move. Watching two guys in a boat fish wasn't really exciting, but he could pretend it was until Michael appeared in the doorway. Blue flashed him a grin, waving the angel over.

"Dude, yeah, can't wait all day on you." There was a brief pause that wasn't quite a falter. He studied Michael for a moment more before raising a brow. "You look beat. Did you jump in front of a bus or something?"

Michael hesitated a moment before he seated himself on the far end of the couch. A sigh escaped him as he leaned back into the overstuffed cushions. There wasn't much furniture in the house, but what was there was of good quality.

"I would have, but I fear it was running late. I simply didn't have the time." A ghost of a grin flickered over his lips. "The week has been busy, that's all. Nothing to trouble yourself with, Kane."

"Oh man, you cracked a joke! Why do you always do this when I have no witnesses? You know, I tell people you're funny and they think I've gone mad." Blue reached over to punch at Michael's shoulder playfully. He was still practically buzzing with nervous energy, trying to pump himself up enough to actually broach the subject of Samael. No one was telling him anything useful and it was kind of getting on his nerves.

"Right, uh huh, not troubling me, bro. I'll probably be bugging you to spill but," Blue shrugged, "I'm sure you knew the risk of that when you walked here." He frowned suddenly. "This is all going to need beer though. Want one?" Blue asked as he stood up. Anxious? Him? Perish the thought.
