Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt II

I shall do a chapter by chapter review later..for now I just want to say that I sobbed and laughed through it all...sobbed at what was happening and laughed at some of those witty comments Ron or Hermione made...I didn't expect what Dudley did, at the beginning, he seemed to be the only one who wanted to say goodbye to Harry. I didn't expect the whole action to start as soon as the third chapter, in the moment when the seven Harrys rose in the sky. I started crying when Hedwig died and I was seriously worried about hagrid and Harry when the bike crashed. Fred and George made me laugh, though, with their ear jokes. Poor George. I didn't expect to lose Mad-Eye that quickly either. I wanted to kick Aunt Muriel at the wedding and slap Ron when he picked on Harry about snogging Ginny when all Ron wanted was to get in Hermione's pants^^. I didn't expect the Ministry to be overthrown at such speed. I didn't expect to start having a soft spot for Kreacher. I didn't expect the Ministry to turn into some concentration camp for killing off Mudbloods. I loved Hermione's handbag.I was happy I had guessed correctly who RAB was. I wanted to slap Ron all the time they were on the move after Yaxley got into Grimmauld Place until he Disapparated and left Hermione and Harry alone. I forgave him only after he destroyed the locked and saved Harry's life. And after Hermione attacked him, of course *gg* I scoffed when I heard that Voldemort's name had Tabboed and I yelled when Harry said his name and the Death Eaters Apparated and caught them. I wanted to hug Draco again when Narcissa asked him whether it was Harry they had as a prisoner. I disliked the Goblin from the first moment Harry and Ron met him in the cell. I wanted to pummel Bellatrix' face when she tortured Hermione. I wanted to hug Luna for being so cool^^ I finally breathed a relieved breath when they managed to get to Bill and Fleur's but my breath was soon cut by a rather pained gasp when I realised Dobby was dead. I walked around the house, book in hand, for the whole duration of the Gringotts chapter. I laughed rather maliciously when Voldemort killed as many Death Eaters as he could in his fury that Harry had got the cup, with Bellatrix and Lucius throwing as many of them in front of them as they could, making a narrow escape from their Master's wrath. I was happy once more when the Trio got to Hogsmeade after Harry was certain a Horcrux was at Hogwarts and they were hidden by the Hog's Head barman, whom I had also been right about: he was Aberforth, Dumbledore's brother. He didn't seem to care much for Harry's mission at first and expressed his sentiments towards his brother's "greater good" theories. We find out his point of view on the actions of Dumbledore's past regarding Grindelwald and Arianna Dumbledore. Neviile comes through the tunnel in Arianna's painting, looking worse for the wear but happy to see them. He tells them the DA has hidden in the Room of Requirement, and as soon as they get there they are surrounded by all the DA members cheering and hugging them. Neville also alerts Luna of the trio's presence there and she presents herself there along with Ginny and Dean. Note Ginny's reaction when Cho offers herself to lead Harry to Ravenclaw common room to show him the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw. Luna takes him instead. A diversion is created when they have to face Alecto Carrow and her brother Amycus. McGonagall also shows up and is happy but mortified to see Harry there. In the end, Harry finds the Grey Lady and finds out more about the diadem. Meanwhile, Order of the Phoenix members have also joined the crowd in the Room of Requirement and Ron and Hermione have gone to the Chamber of the Secrets for the Basilisk's fangs, needed for the destruction of the remaining Horcruxes. The battle of Hogwarts begins. Percy shows up and redeems himself in the eyes of his family. Harry goes to find the diadem in the "room where everything is hidden" where he had hidden his Potions book the year before.Hermione and Ron finally kiss. The Trio is attacked by Draco, Crabbe and Goyle there. Harry manages to get the diadem and saves Draco's life. Harry realises Voldemort is the Shrieking Shack. Everywhere around him people are dying on both sides. Fred dies at Percy and Ron's side. Harry goes to the Shrieking Shack, where he witnesses the murder of Severus Snape. Snape hands him a memory before he dies and Harry goes to Dumbledore's office to pay the Pensieve a visit, as Voldemort's voice resounds along the grounds, giving them one hour of peace after which Harry would have to come to him in the Forbidden Forest or else everyone would die. Harry looks at Snape's early memories of when he met Lily Evans and her sister and how he fell in love with her and then we find out the truth: the Gaunt ring was cursed because it was part of the Deathly Hallows legend and Dumbledore's time was limited. He had asked Severus to kill him instead of letting Draco do it when the time would come. Dumbledore also tells Severus that Harry is the last Horcrux and that he has to die in order to kill Voldemort. Harry knows what he has to do. He leaves Dumbledore's office, informing no one of what he is about to do. He tells Neville to try and kill Nagini. He thinks of the deaths of Fred and Remus and Tonks, recent parents of baby Teddy. Harry's scared about leaving everything behind as he walks towards the Forbidden Forest, knowing he is about to die. He unlocks the Snitch Dumbledore has left him in his will and finds the Stone of Resurrection. His parents, Sirius and Lupin accompany him as he walks, a highly emotional moment, if I might say. The ghosts leave him as he faces Voldemort. Voldemort kills him...

...and Harry finds himself in a place that looks a lot like a foggy and deserted King's Cross. There is no one there apart from himself and a crying baby hidden under a bench. Dumbledore appears. He reveals all the secrets of his youth to harry, his dreams of the Hallows, his dangerous ambitions, his friendship with Grindelwald, his repentance after Arianna is killed by a jinx Aberforth, Grindelwald and himself were casting in a fight. He tells Harry he can go back and Harry does, pretending to still be dead as he returns in his body in the Forbidden Forest. He notices Lord Voldemort has barely come to himself. Voldemort asks Narcissa to check if Harry really is dead. After asking Harry if Draco was all right and in the castle and after getting an affirmative reply from Harry, she pronounces him dead. Hagrid, Voldemort's prisoner, is forced to carry what he thinks is Harry's lifeless body back to the castle. McGonagall screams when she sees Harry and so do all the others. In the diversion that follows, Harry disappears under the Cloak, reappearing in the Great Hall...the castle is in bad shape and everyone's fighting. Harry finally kills Voldemort once and for all. The ones that have survived seat themselves all together in the Great Hall, including the Malfoys. Ah, and I love Molly Weasley just for calling bella a bitch and killing her ^^

19 years later, Harry and Ginny and Ron and Hermione lead their eleven year olds to the Hogwarts Express. Lily, James and Albus Severus are the Potter children. James is already in Hogwarts and Albus starts his first year. Rose and Hugo are the Weasley children. Draco and his wife are also there with their son Scorpius.

Obviously, I didn't expect that ending, but I loved it all. I'll forever think JK Rowling is a great writer. I've grown with Harry Potter and every book has been a new adventure and I'm very sad it's over. Sometimes it's nice to have something to detach you from everyday bullshit and in my opinion she's created a magical world that will forever be looked upon. I'll miss them, but throughout the book there has been a huge sense of finality and I've come to terms with it. The final book was all I could have imagined and more. So I'd appreciate it if people didn't start discussions with me about how bad this book is. I like it. Fin.
