So, this personal narrative class I'm taking - there are two women who are refugees. One is from Uganda, and the other is from El Salvador. We're supposed to be writing from experience, and my pieces thus far have been about exes peeing inappropriately, and having to deal with bus frotteurs. You have to admire how emotionally strong they must be. I know I'd be a wreck. I mean, I nearly became hysterical tonight while grocery shopping because I bought something that I hadn't had since my grandmother died and it reminded me of her. I should take lessons from them on dealing, or have my hormones checked. *admires them some more*

You have written about much 'deeper' things than pee, M.

While it is crucial to have personal accounts on the atrocities that happen world-wide (and that, in some way, we are all contributing to) it is also important to focus inside.

You are able to approach sensitive and brutal topics (like your Mer Lady story) in ways that other people are incapable of. You will reach more people than you realize. People like me will continue to read your work with tears in our eyes as you touch our hearts and *help us* deal with issues, or losses, or grief, without becoming overwhelmed ONLY because of your talent.

Your work is far more valuable than you know. Go Girl.
