Kinn fic

Dec 30, 2011 21:34

God, I'm so rusty, I cannot...anyway, due to the twin's awesome influence, I've been able to write and finish a fic today. For once!! I just wanted to end 2011 with a bang, obviously. I'm at my rustiest writing-wise these days, but it just feels good to be productive in anyway.
So here it is, a fic I've owed starsandgutters for the longest time and inspired by ( Read more... )

Oh wow. This was utterly beautiful. To take a really simple premise and create so much tension, and then provide a beautiful but not perfect resolution really takes talent. And your Kurt, oh he's so complex here, conflicted but with a quiet strength that he probably doesn't even realise he has. And Finn just knowing he's got him right where he wants to, under the layer of bite and righteous indignation, is just so in-character for these two.

He tries to moves his hand away, but before he can make his body listen, Finn’s fingers wrap around Kurt’s wrist, and the grip reminds him of Finn being a quarterback, of the strength hidden beneath the dopey layer.

This line, and the rest of the paragraph, just stood out to me so so much. If this is you being rusty, heaven knows what you produce when you're feeling more confident about your writing abilities! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing. <3

This is so gorgeous. The style of the writing, the word choices, the way you can *feel* Kurt's turmoil and what he knows he should do competing with what he truly *wants* to do, and the tension is so, so lovely.

The characterization is wonderful as well and, being the type of person who will take any Kinn they can get, I'm going to consider this a coda of sorts to the episode now.

Time for Ambra's classic uber-long review! starsandgutters January 8 2012, 14:49:17 UTC
Oh my. Late to it, but it's finally time to comment on this little gem.

Overall, I just really loved the intensity, how... dense each moment seemed to be, like the air in the room was heavy with these boys' feelings.

Kurt’s poker face has never been good, but he used to play on Finn’s ingenuity, he used to have some power of conviction. Not anymore.

Love this little nod to the past, and to season-one-Kurt's absolute lack of subtlety, and to how Finn was oblivious to everything (or pretended to be, anyway).

the grip reminds him of Finn being a quarterback, of the strength hidden beneath the dopey layer.

HNNNGH. Not really an eloquent comment, but. I love me some dangerous subtext. I hope they put said strength to good use.

He buried this love, he buried the silly boy he used to be. Months and months of painstaking progress are unravelling in front of him, and he can't put a stop to it. He's as weak as he's always been and he's been a fool to think otherwise.
I love both the denial and the painful realization that it was all a ( ... )

wow this was really good and I loved the way you analysed how Kurt was with Finn and the fact that Finn can see he's no longer Kurt, that he has been oppressing himself because it's so true. And the way Kurt tries to punch him away, even by telling him he hates him, is so heartbreaking, but his words are right because Finn really hurt him, but I'm glad he apologizes and that he doesn't back off and that they finally kiss each other.

They're truly meant to be, that can't be denied.
Loved this :')
