The plotty/long multi-fandom rec list

Apr 16, 2011 10:03

To compile this list, I decided I wanted to include some of my older, less well known favorite fics and some of my fics from my newer fandoms. I've been reading fanfic for about 10 years and have gone through as many fandoms, so below you will find a list with the new fandoms first that segues back into the older stuff.

Most of the fics are ( Read more... )

I don't want to make a big thing out of it, but I'm really kind of disturbed you're equating sociopathy and asexuality.

I missed that and went back to have a look. Yeah. Hmm. Also, I never thought of asexuality as something a person suffers? O.o

Sorry about making it sound like I think sociopathy and asexuality are the same thing. I don't really, they are just major points of the story.

It isn't that Sherlock "suffers" from them. It is that his siblings pester him about it, so it is a kind of suffering.

this is one of those things where I am too close to the story to do it justice. It is hilarious and awesome.

I'm very sorry if I gave offense. My only excuse is that I was focused on writing the post and posting it, and did not spend much time proofing.

Again, apologies.

Ah, understood. It came off really weird, but I can get that you unintentionally conveyed one thing 'coz you were so focused on what you knew of the story and it didn't translate to other people. I've not made this kind of correlation before, but it does happen to me sometimes that something will be so clear and obvious in my head that I get surprised when other people get confused or don't understand what I'm trying to get across because they can't read my mind and know where I'm coming from. It's all good, bb.

Thanks for the reminder about the amazing Dr. Squidlove!!! "The Giles Thing" is such a great fic!

She does have a new Giles/Xander story she's working on, but it isn't done yet, so I thought I'd go back to the gold standard of recs for her.

No problem, I love the fandom immensely, so I try to keep track of the good stuff. (I've been saving the files as epubs and using stanza to read them on my ipod).

Enjoy!

The SGA/GG crossover sounds interesting, thanks for that rec! (and for having stuff other than Sherlock! I'm happy it's such a popular fandom and people are enjoying it, but I've not had much to read so far, so yay for this!)

Honestly, the SGA/GG is amazing. Most of it is from Rory's pov, but some of it is from John and Rodney's, and it takes a long time to develop. Rory's character development is amazingly well written.

OMG, OMG, DYING FROM THE AWESOME. I stayed up til like, 4am reading it, and then I spent all the next day reading it, and now I only have five chapters to go- although that's still a lot of words- and I don't know what I'm going to DOOO ONCE IT'S OVER. *sob*

The worst part about reading epic crossovers is that I go in search of other crossovers in the hope that they, too, will be amazing...and I am inevitably disappointed. Oh, well. I'mma gleefully anticipate the last few chapters and try to savor them...

The good/bad news on this front is that it isn't finished. I've friended mhalachai's lj (mhalachaiswords) so that I know when she posts updates, but she's been on hiatus of late, so there haven't been new chapters for quite a while.

I highly recommend visiting her LJ/Twisting the Hellmouth site. Her other stories are gold too.
