[Illegible date]
It’s completely understandable that the existence of such a device has been well hidden through time, since it would change the organization of life on earth, as we know it. I, that has been raised between the protectors of men, was educated to eliminate the undead to preserve those that need our protection because are kept on the dark about the threats that live outside of their walled cities.
Following the myth my late grandfather chased with the price of his life, I took in the mission to collect all the information that dated from when the earth and the first living beings were created, and after a lifetime, I can now assure the existence of the magical object that can eliminate the shadows we extinguish with our light.
The item dates back to the Babylonian era. It appears to be some sort of lute, though the quality of the strings has not been verified. Further testing is clearly in order.
[10th July, year illegible]
Testing has shown that this item is all that I had hoped. There seems to be some manner of preservative magic on the strings, as they look and react like they had just been attached moments before use. While the myth speaks of more than one item, the lute alone is more powerful than I had imagined.
Upon my orders, a team of slayers brought three live vampires back to our base for test subjects. The lute does not seem to require any measure of skill or musical aptitude to be used effectively, a fact I discovered on the first vampire. I played the instrument in the same room as the creature, and the sound caused it to crumble to ash. The guards placed on the cells of the other subjects reported agitation from the one closest to the cell I had been in, while the other became startlingly compliant. Clearly, proximity has a powerful effect on what the lute does.
[MOD!OOC:
Inui's discoverings in the Burned Down Hospital are part of this Diary. Unfourtunately (for you), the parts above that contain what the instrument really is and what it works for have gone missing (so none of you know they exist). Fear not! All players (hunters and vampires alike, since both sides might find this information very useful) are encouraged to comment in this entry (a blank coment is ok, but showing us some love would be nice too), by doing so, you get a number. You can comment in this entry from today june 17th to saturday 22th; on sunday 23th, we'll draw a random number from
http://random.org and the winner will 'find' these pieces of paper and so valuable information. The number will be given to the character the journal belongs too, so you can comment how many times you want with all your characters; the more comments you make the higher your chances are.
Just to be fair, Yukimura and Sanada will be excluded from this and the process of drawing will be made by Fee and screencaped for all to see.]
