I'll tell you what I can.

His strength is legendary back in Konoha, where we're from. He killed off one of our leaders and tried to take down the entire country once. As far as abilities, he can control snakes and... is a snake of sorts, as I understand it, and can transform into one.

I'm afraid that's all I know, though. My knowledge of Orochimaru is very limited. I would suggest asking others from my village. Tsunade and Jiraiya would be a good start.
