I'm very sorry to hear of your son's decline. You sound like you're being strong about it. Thank goodness John can take you to visit. I expect John is glad to be in contact as well. You have my good thoughts.

David's decline makes me sad, of course, but visiting him is the reality check I need to deal with the situation.

Thank you for your support. I'm glad I have somewhere to write down the events is cathartic for me. FanSee

It is a very hard thing you are having to do - to watch your son's condition deteriorate like this. I'm so glad you have a way to make that trip.

Is David John's father? I'm sure you have said, but I can't recall.

Me, too, and John has been a rock.

I have three sons: David, 64; Alan, 61; and John, 58. David has two sons, Ryan, age 34 and Justin, 31. Alan has a daughter, Samantha, age 27. John is childless by choice.

Nobody prepared me for the fact that when I got old, my kiddies would get old, too. That's what happens when you have your first at 19. FanSee

Oh! For some reason I thought John was much younger and thus had to be a grandson!

Big hugs to you {{{{Fansee}}}}

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. It must be big consolation for David to see you.

At the time of the first picture, I think our visit was comforting. Now....now he's started to withdraw. I suspect that if we gave him permission to leave, he'd go but Lauri's not ready to do that and it's not my place to intervene. FanSee

Thank you for the support.

I took care of my beloved mother-in-law through her final, extended illness, so this is not my first rodeo. I'm sad but not devastated. FanSee
