September has been a quiet but pleasant month, at least so far, and it's already September 24th, so how much can go wrong?
Just typing that is like tempting fate!
I continue to try to walk outdoors every day which, for me, mostly means walking in circles to avoid the worst of the traffic in my area. Happily, these are also pretty walks.
For instance, right across from my building is a small park within Fairmount Park: Maja Park.
In the foreground is a view of the plaza where the Maja is displayed. My apartment is on the 8th floor of the building in the background. From this angle, you can't see my windows; they are hidden behind the trees.
I should have gotten closer to take the Maja's picture. Never mind, if you want to know more about her...or see a close up picture...go
HERE Today's news was that, approaching the plaza from a different direction, I discovered that the Parks and Recreation Department had put up new signage this week.
I could make the argument that the answer is yes.
Yesterday's walk included a stop at the South Building to pick up some of my purchases that had been delivered. Usually these would be in a locker in the basement of the South Building, but those lockers are not yet considered okay to use, thank you very much, Hurricane Ida. Since everybody living at Park Towne Place is a semi-pro shopper, the staff have been dealing with a steady flow of tenant purchases. I got a notice yesterday that I had a purchase to pick up, but no, I had four:
Here they are, all stuffed into my surprisingly capacious rollator.
The somewhat surprised but definitely pleased purchaser.
What I got:
1.)Two ice cube trays to replace the two that got thrown out when Park Towne Place cleaned out my refrigeration after Ida. I wish I'd thought to order ice cube trays with lids. That will probably be another purchase for another day.
2.)Next to the ice cube trays is a little blue and yellow spritzer that I haven't yet figured out how to work. I should go back to the Metropolitan Museum of Art web site and see if there is guidance there.
3.) A book by Martha Wells that I hope is a one-off or, if part of a series, Book 1.
4.) A place mat, I think, but if so, why did I buy it? I don't need to put something between my place settings and my good-looking breakfast bar. Also, it was awful to unpack.
I used scissors and a knife.
Bad language ensued. FanSee
