Dune

Long ago and far away, Dune was published in August of 1965. I was a married lady with three children and a husband who loved his job but was not highly compensated. That's good to know that you enjoyed it. I remember liking the book in h.s. in the 80s but the rest of the series not so much.

I read Dune ages and ages ago - I don't recall much about it - so it didn't make a major impression on me, clearly :D I remember "spice", blue eyes and sandworms :D

I read the books ages ago. I did see the Lynch version and hated it. I didn't pay any attention to the miniseries in 2000. My husband convinced me to go see the new one on opening day at the theater in 3D. There were 4 of us in the theater and all were masked. I absolutely LOVED it. And I loved Chalamet as Paul. I have since watched it twice more on HBO. I have heard Part 2 has been given the go ahead and should be released in 2023. I hope it actually happens. I am so glad I saw in on the big screen first. It definitely made a difference in the impact.

I admire that you can read a 700-page book. I think I tried reading it. Saw the movie because Sting was in it, but it was way over my head.

I'm thrilled to see a new post from you on here dearest fansee. I've made a birthday post for you on here on October 19th and you didn't reply.

I've never read the book but I've heard of it while in high school in the mid 80's. I was aware of the film that was made back then (I graduated high school in '84) , mainly because I was (and still am) a Sting fan and he looked so cool in it. I think it was his first acting role but IDK what role he was playing in it, though.
I've heard about the new version but IDK anything about it. Not a huge fan of Timothée tbh. In fact I think it's quite frustrating that he lands all the major roles when there are so many other talented new actors out there, but that's a whole different discussion.

Well done you for going out to the cinema to watch it with your son.
Take care and stay safe
Hugs
V.
