I bought a lot of souvenirs for myself, and for colleagues, friends etc. I bought a variety, so I couldn't really buy a LOT of each...not so much for lack of funds, rather...lack of space!! I purchased a 20kg bag allowance for the journey back, and though I hit only 18kg, my bag was REALLY FILLED to the brim.
Wasabi Pumpkin seeds, 550Yen.
Purchased at 5th Station, Mt.Fuji
Melon Candy, 1200Yen for 35 pieces
Sold by our tour guide
Green Tea cookies, VERY EXPENSIVE at 2080Yen for 20 pieces.
Purchased at Malebranche, Kiyomizu Temple area.
Individually packed and INSANELY DELICIOUS. REALLY.
Almond cookies. THe outer texture is like Taiyaki, the inside is almond with...caramel I think. 1350Yen for 12 pieces I believe.
Individually packed, DELICIOUS.
Purchased at Takayama area I think, though I think it should be commercially available.
Black Sesame cream cookies. Looks like oval shaped oreos. 1080Yen for 18-24 pieces I believe.
Purchased at Odaiba, though I'm sure it's commercially available.
TIROL assorted chocolates. at 105Yen.
Purchased from DAISO. Not available in DAISO Malaysia.
I love these. A good variety and already nicely packed as souvenirs, and so bloody affordable. Unfortunately I only bought a FEW that night, thinking I could come back the next night and buy in BULK, but unfortunately the next night we came back past DAISO's closing time.
This is another version of the TIROL assorted chocolates, at 298Yen I think, but it's missing 2 of the 9 flavours.
Green Tea Kit Kat, 1575Yen for 10 mini boxes, quite expensive.
My brother loooooves Kit Kat, since he was a KID, I can't wait for him to taste these....
This is the wasabi version. Can't remember the price....but I remember I didn't think that it was as expensive as the Green Tea one.
This is NOT the famous Tokyo Banana. That one looks like a TWIGGIEs whereby it's yellow and filled with banana cream. I didn't buy that one because....the box was large, and it was RIDICULOUSLY expensive at 1800Yen or so for maybe 12 pieces. Though the green tea cookies were also expensive, but at least I was able to taste a sample...so I know it's very delicious.
What I bought below however, is a chocolate, with banana cream filling. Less than 200Yen each I believe.
Purchased at ODAIBA.
Supposedly MEIJI is very famous and delicious hard to find in Malaysia?
Bought this green tea chocolate at less than 200Yen I believe.
No idea why this picture appears upside down on LJ. Meiji's collection of WHITE, MILK and BLACK chocolates. 298Yen or 395Yen for more than 20 pieces. I think.
The brand is Melto I believe, judging from the wrapping. Again, it's either 298Yen or 395Yen for more than 30 pieces.
Wasabi powder, purchased at Todaiji Temple in Nara, at 565Yen.
This is absolutely delicious on wet, soft, Japanese rice. Really delicious.
Kilimanjaro Coffee by UCC. Apparently UCC is very popular?? I don't know...I don't take coffee.
These are especially for my boss, a colleague, and a bank-friend.
Priced at 198Yen or 298Yen for 8 bags.
Strawberry and Blueberry tea, at 105Yen each, from DAISO.
Tried the blueberry one. Whilst the scent is very fragrant, the taste is mere green tea, but with a blueberry after taste....which...hmmm.. I found it to be a bit tongue-numbing.
Again, I don't know why this appears upside down. ROYCE chocolates, which are very expensive in Malaysia (some boxes can cost up to USD 15 each). THis one costs 1100Yen for about 12 individual packs.
Apparently they cost about 30-35% cheaper than in Malaysia.
Another one, can't remember the price.
Yet another one from Royce. Again, I can't remember the price.
That's all for now,
