What is your guys impression on this whole thing? I've been talking a lot about it with various people. There's talk that 6A is doing this intentionally as to virtually kill LiveJournal as to bolster usership over on Vox. There's talk that SUP bought LiveJournal as to control their own country, seeing how many people in Russia use LJ because

I think 6A dumped LiveJournal because it's a big, black money hole. A co-op is a nice idea, except that was tried in the original incarnation of LJ- the idea was that everyone would be contributing to the code, and then eventually paid accounts were introduced when the community started to fill up with people who couldn't contribute to the code. See! Contribute to the community!

Hah. It is to laugh. Everyone knows you shouldn't have to PAY for someone else to host your tortured rantings and lolcats.

So when the LJ guys finally figured out that they couldn't keep paying for servers and bandwidth under the weight of people who took their free account and contributed nothing in return, they sold it to 6A, Which I honestly believe was the short-term salvation of LiveJournal.
