I totally agree with you about treading lightly in polyships: I have a few that I like, but it's awfully hard to find something that I don't want to back button to. But when someone does it decently, the world is a better place for it!

Haha, I was like that too. It just pissed me off seeing how lame they were and the fact that they never got any action. It got to the point though when I would look at them and just feel sad instead of angry. I kept thinking, "why are you being written so poorly!?!?!?" ;____; I agree with you that Sakura keeps getting cooler and cooler. I've really enjoyed watching her work in the battle so far XD

But when night is upon them, he asks her about it in the quiet, awkward way he speaks to Sakura when he wants to sound empathetic (it's not that he's not empathetic: he just... speaks in a certain impersonal monotone that's perfectly natural... for him).I love this section too!! I really appreciate how you focus on the intimacy between Sakura and Sasuke when it would be so easy to turn this into a NaruSasu fic or even NaruSaku. Their relationship is complicated, mostly because I imagine Sasuke being incredibly awkward (as you described him) which might lead to some harshness born of embarrassment and Sakura harboring resentment
