"Everything o-okay, Giles?" I asked softly, knowing that it was unlikely that he'd tell me. He rarely went into his feelings.

"I'm tossing everyone into another crisis and we haven't dealt emotionally with the one we just had. We lost some good potentials in that fight, the girls are now Slayers and we lost Anya," Giles said, rubbing his temples. "Sorry, I'm babbling. Just tired. I didn't sleep well. Are you and Willow alright?"

I paused.
"We lost a lot of good people in that fight"
Giles frowned, and looked more tired than ever. I quickly added "But it could have been much, m-much worse."
I smiled softly at the exhausted man and put my hand on his shoulder, which seemed to shake him out of his daze.

Politely excusing myself from Willow I started a slow walk across the lobby floor toward where Rupert was. I was sure he would be surprised to find me here in LA, the city certainly was a long way from England. Just as I was happy to finally meet Willow, I was glad and a bit anxious to see Rupert again. Last time I had seen him was when he visited the coven back in England.
"Hello Rupert." I said in a soft tone, giving him one of my friendliest smiles as I approached him and Tara, who he seemed to be speaking with. I hoped I was not intruding on private conversation.

The Watcher shook his head. "Forgive me, I'm still a bit rattled and haven't slept well in... I don't remember when I slept more than a few hours last."

"The coven did send me, but to Cleveland not LA. I only came here after talking on the phone with Willow." I said, which was truthful for the most part. It was not the right time to speak of the other small reason that had brought me to the States. There were larger and more important issues to deal with now, like the impending disaster that seemed to be coming.
