Leave a list of fictional characters in your journal that you would love to get a message from. It is your friend-list's mission, should they choose to accept it, to write you an in-character "letter" from a character on that list. Then they post their own list in their journal and the process continues!

In no particular order... )

Amro's Mun-

Close enough to pirate for you? Not sure that I'm worth all of my salt, but not sure that I'm caring much about it either. Amro says enough to imply I am. Sure, we know how much he says, specially when it comes to me, but right now who's caring?

Not me, not Sar, probably not you. Closest you're getting to someone worth dealing with at least unless you wanna go with Alphros and then Elphir would beat us so...

Not that I've got much to say, not so good at this writing letters bit and haven't written much else in so long. If this were coming from the nobles probably it would have some greeting no one understands, some long flowing thing...Glad I'm still not one of them, even with what I am. Couldn't take it I don't think.

Hope you're taking whatever's on with you, that you'll like this sorta, though it's not all fancified and sweet. Not like you'll miss those bits I'm thinking, so...here it is. A letter just for you from the closest thing to pirate with a brain.

Dear Ms. Karigan,

forgive the familiarity of the greeting but I am afraid that is the only name I am aware of. There is not a vast deal I can think to say, its nearing the end of Winter in Egypt and the closing the happiest season of the year for me, and one of the happiest years. I am also most uncomfortable as my confinement is nearly at an end. Emerson declares that I am very temperamental as well, but as I am sure you are aware, I am never temperamental, only high spirited, and that is a quality that can never be in an excess. Oh dear, Emerson's shouting at the men again, and he says I am cross! I do hope to better your acquaintance, though I should say 'to make' your acquaintance since we have never truly been properly introduced. Until then!

Carry on

Mrs. Amelia Peabody Emerson

Kari,

Y'know lass, if you wanted a letter from me, ya could've just asked. What's all this tricky business about "being worth salt"? As any good seafarer knows, there is an abun...abunde...A LOT of salt out there in Davy Jones' Locker, and the appropriate question would be "Are ye worth gold, mate?" Gold is where it's at, let me tell you. Gold can buy ye the lands, the oceans and the skies.

And the rum. Lots and lots of rum. Which reminds me of the time when you and I...
Err, on second thought, let's not mention that, love.

But until the winds bring us together again, stay hale n'hearty, plunder and pillage, and drink lots of rum.

Keep the horizon in your sights,
-Cap'n Jack Sparrow-

P.S. That time in Tortuga? You know the one. You still owe me.

Mordred -

I really don't know what to say. Except, maybe, that, despite any of the things you might have heard, I do want to say yes. I would like to go somewhere with you tomorrow. When (and where) can we meet to discuss the details?

I'm very flattered by your offer and look foreward to seeing you later.

- Kari
