The campus was quiet on Friday. Taking it easy after the rally the day before. Between that, furlough days, and fewer classes scheduled overall, there were very few of us around

Our union has a statewide meeting three times a year for a two-day session. Stewards from all of the campuses meet to take care of business. We met last month and it was on a Monday and Tuesday. The Friday before was a furlough day for our campus, so I decided to turn that long weekend into a mini-vacation. I spent it relaxing, taking in a Cirque du Soleil show (Ka), and snapping pictures with my new-to-me camera.
I bought the Cirque ticket late so I didn't expect to be sitting in the second row, front and center! But there I was, and I loved every minute of it!
I walked The Strip up to Caesar's Palace and back. Twice. Once during the day and again at night.
They had storms just like us. Great skies for picture taking.
I put up a Vegas photo album on my Facebook page, Mira. You should be able to view it.
Our group is doing write-ins, just getting together and setting aside time to write.
But, I've been feeling this itch to write fanfic again, so I'm using the write-ins to get back into the habit.
Vegas was good. It was part vacation, part business. The business part was difficult, so I was really glad the vacation part was great.
I went to a Cirque du Soleil show - Ka. I bought the ticket a couple days before I left, so I wasn't expecting a great seat. When I showed my ticket to the ushers they kept sending me to another closer to the stage. I ended up in the second row, front and center! It was a fantastic show and I had a fantastic time.
And I walked up and down The Strip. Once during the day and again at night. That was cool. Just kind of wandered around and ended up seeing some great sights.
It's interesting because there are big, new, fancy casinos alongside the older ones and in between are convenience stores, old store fronts. And a mall with designer clothing and accessories. It's a mash-up of old and new.

Great photos. I love the old part of town. Some of those homes are so beautiful, and of course all the enormous oak trees. Lovely.
