[Drabble] I Will Blindly Follow You
Kazu didn't like going out. He's an indoor person, everyone knows that. But, his stupid boyfriend wanted to go out and insisted that Kazu should go with him.
“Come on, Kazu, let’s go out tomorrow,” said Satoshi, his boyfriend. “We’ve been spending our date indoors all the time. How about we go outside for a change tomorrow?”
“No,” Kazu refused to budge from his decision. Why would they go out? They could do a lot of things indoors. Kazu could play games and Satoshi could draw. Wasn’t that the best kind of date? Satoshi never complained about it before so why would he complain about it now. “Where are we going to go? You know I cannot go fishing with you,”
“We can do something else,”
A pout. Damn! Satoshi knew the pout was Kazu’s kryptonite. Whenever he pouted, Kazu would be ready to do what he desired.
“Okay, what do you want to do?” asked Kazu begrudgingly. “If I like your idea, I will go out with you tomorrow,”
Yes, he wouldn’t easily agree unless Satoshi had something interesting in his mind.
“Watching a movie?” suggested Satoshi with a bright smile. Kazu rolled his eyes. They could just do it at home. It was more comfortable, after all. Lying on the couch together, watching any movies together. Sometimes, they would… you know… in the middle of the movie. That was his favourite thing to do during their indoor dates.
Kazu gave his attention to Satoshi again. Gone already the smile on his face. Ohno Satoshi was once again pouting. Kazu sighed when he saw it.
“Okay, let’s go out tomorrow,” Kazu finally agreed. How he could say no to Satoshi?
“Really?” asked Satoshi. “Are we going to see a movie tomorrow?”
Kazu was about to nod when an idea popped into his head.
“We’ll see,”
“An intersection,” informed Kazu. “Do we go right or left?”
“Hmm… left,”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes,”
“Okay,”
Kazu came out with the plan yesterday to make their date more interesting. Kazu would drive and Satoshi, wearing a blindfold, would decide which direction they would go. Satoshi would decide when he wanted to stop and wherever they stopped, it would be the place for their date. So far, they had stopped in front of a bank and a hospital. Nothing could be done on both locations. When they arrived at the bank, Kazu made Satoshi give him 10000 yen as a punishment. At the hospital, Kazu donated the money.
They continued their journey after that, trying to find the best place to enjoy their date. Satoshi seemed determined this time. He would not stop unless he was sure they would be at a place where they could enjoy the date. And Kazu knew where it would be. It was a place that could be easily determined by the smell. Seemed like Satoshi did a good job this time. They’re almost there as Kazu could smell it. And, when Kazu turned left as instructed, the destination was right in front of his eyes.
“Okay, stop,” said Satoshi. And, Kazu stopped. Satoshi took off the blindfold, smiling brightly at the view in front of him. A beach. They would be spending their date on a beach.
“So…” Satoshi began. “What is my reward for getting us here?”
“A date with me, that’s all,” said Kazu. He immediately opened the door, trying to get away from Satoshi. When he heard the door close behind him, he quickened his steps. Feeling Satoshi was getting closer to him, he started to run.
“Hey, don’t run!” whined Satoshi. Kazu looked behind and blew raspberries at him. Satoshi would catch him soon. He could run better than Kazu.
And, just as Kazu thought about it, Satoshi’s arm wrapped around his waist. Man, his boyfriend was too fast. How did he cover the distance in a short time?
“Got you,” said Satoshi. “I should get a double reward, right? I brought you to a place where we could have our date. And, I also caught you,”
“Really? So, what would be the reward?”
“Hmm…” Satoshi didn’t answer. Instead, he tightened his hold on Kazu before leaning in for a kiss. Of course, Kazu happily responded to the kiss without any objections.
“We should do this again,” said Satoshi.
They were now on their way home. Nothing much was done at the beach. They just sat together, watching what other people did. It may look boring but Kazu felt calm doing so.
“Okay,” agreed Kazu. “But, let’s do it differently next time,”
“How?”
“Hmm… let’s say, the destination will be Tokyo Disneyland. You’re going to get your eyes closed again. You give me direction and decide when to stop. When you stop, we will see how far you are from our real destination. You will have to pay me for how far you are from it,”
Kazu shook his head, already used to Kazu’s love for money. “Whatever you want, honey. And, if I get us to our destination, I will decide the reward, okay?”
“Okay,” agreed Kazu. “But, you will not win,”
“We’ll see,”
