Sho wouldn’t allow them to eat outside, which resulted in Nino pouting in protest in the corner of the room. Apparently, the media had found out about the will and what kind of role Nino had in it. Not letting Nino be chased by the media, Sho had made some arrangements with the help of Nino’s friend, Aiba. While Ohno was locked in the room with Nino and Jun, Sho had been moving Nino’s stuff into the house as well as terminating his rental agreement. Nino no longer had a job because Aiba had handed both their resignation to the manager of the convenience store.
“Don’t I have a say at all?” said Nino. “I haven’t agreed to the request when you quit my job for me,”
“I’m sorry for doing this,” answered Sho. “But, we have no choice. It is impossible for you to return to your house or your job. The media are at your house and the convenience store right now, hoping to have a look at Ohno Kazuki’s heir. I’m sure you don’t want to be chased,”
“Whatever!” Nino glared at Sho before he walked to the corner of the room. Sho, on the other hand, looked at his watch.
“Well, I have work to do,” said Sho. “Please stay here and I’ll ask the maid to prepare your lunch. Later, I’ll bring you to your room when it is ready,” He looked at Aiba and then added. “Aiba-san, will you please help me?”
The tall man looked at Nino, seeming conflicted to leave his friend and help Sho. However, in the end, he decided to follow Sho, leaving Ohno with Nino in the room. Jun had long left them, right before Sho told them about the media.
Ohno let out a sigh. In this matter, both Sho and Nino had their reasons for acting the way they did. Sho was just trying to protect Nino from the media while Nino was mad because his freedom was snatched from him. If there was somebody to be blamed, shouldn’t it be Ohno’s grandfather for putting Nino in this position? But, his grandfather also had his reason for doing so even though Ohno didn’t know what it was.
The only thing he could do right now was to comfort Nino. But, what should he do? He had no idea.
Ah!
Food!
Nino had mentioned earlier that he was starving. It might not offer much comfort but at least it would distract him for a while. Sho wouldn’t allow them to go out but they can still eat somewhere else in the house, right? He should bring Nino to the wing where his family resided. Lunch will be ready by now. Even if it was not ready yet, he could make ramen for Nino.
Taking a deep breath, he approached Nino. The pout was still on his face but it was replaced with a smile when Ohno got closer.
“Konnichiwa,” greeted Nino. For a second, Ohno felt like he was back in the convenience store with Nino as the cashier. It felt surreal. Until yesterday, he barely had a chance to spend time with the other man. He could only see Nino when he went to the store, pretending to buy snacks. Today, he was in a room with Nino for more than three hours even though he spent most of it sleeping.
“Hmm… Hi,” said Ohno shyly. He was never good with words and people. That was why, even though he had a crush on Nino, he could never say anything to the man. “Hmm… I’m heading back to my room. Do you want to go together? We can eat ramen together. You’re starving, right?”
That was probably the longest sentence he had ever said to Nino. It was amazing how he didn’t stutter as he spoke to the cute man in front of him. Even Nino seemed surprised by it.
“Sure!” answered Nino. “It was boring to stay here. That stupid lawyer says I have to stay here. But, who cares. Thank you for saving me from boredom,”
Ah, Ohno suddenly remembered what Sho said before he left the room. But, Ohno wouldn’t change his mind when he saw how eager Nino was to leave the room. Still, he had to text his friend so that Sho won’t be panicking.
As he was about to take his phone out to text Sho, Nino suddenly took his hand and held it tightly, startling him.
“So that I won’t get lost in this palace,” said Nino with a grin.
Looking at the smile on Nino’s face, he forgot to text Sho and started to walk out of the room with Nino’s hand in his, hoping that he wasn’t blushing.
Teddy Bear was so cute!
Nino felt completely at ease with Ohno. He cursed himself for thinking that Ohno might be manipulating him in order to get the inheritance. Look at the blush! He was certain Ohno’s crush on him was sincere.
As they walked around the palace, Ohno talked about his family and the house at Nino’s request. From Ohno, he found out that there were four main areas in the palace. First, the central area where they gathered earlier. It was where the family did social gatherings or events. Then, Ohno’s and Matsumoto’s residence as well as his grandfather’s residence. The family members were required to eat lunch at Ohno Kazuki’s residence once a week, usually on Sunday. Now that his grandfather is gone, they no longer do it.
Ohno suspected that they would be staying in his grandfather’s residence. As the compound was vast, there were a few electric carts to get moving around the compound easier. Ohno had asked whether Nino wanted to ride the cart but he rejected the offer. He wanted to walk holding Ohno’s hand.
There was a lake, apparently. That was where Ohno often spent his time with Ohno Kazuki.
“It must be beautiful,” said Nino. “I would love to go there,”
Ohno smiled. “I’ll bring you there,”
“Can’t wait for it!” exclaimed Nino. “Anyway, can I ask you something?”
“Hmm…”
There wasn’t really an answer but Nino assumed Ohno was okay with it.
“Is there a problem between your father and the diva’s father?”
“Diva?”
Ohno looked confused and it distracted Nino as he thought of how cute Ohno was.
“That is what I call your cousin. He acted like a diva,”
“Ah…” said Ohno. “Why are you asking about our fathers?”
“I don’t know. It seems like they don’t like each other,”
“Hmm…”
Ohno didn’t have the chance to answer as at that moment, the older Matsumoto appeared before them.
