I'm so, so, soooo happy you were not disappointed by this fic! I was afraid you would be, seeing that I chose to tackle this subject... I really admire the House of Stewards, and I think Mardil is a much more important character - if he hadn't taken the rule, Gondor would have fallen into anarchy! And Denethor, he was a very good ruler at the beginning, Gondor should have been more grateful! :( So I just had to do them some justice... :)
The Banners motif... I'm glad you have a nicer association now... And I have to admit I wouldn't have developped the theme if it hadn't been for Arahiril! :) She did an excellent job at making me think more about it and produce a better story...
And yes, this *is* my very first fanfiction written for Lord of the Rings. Wrote a few for a couple of other fandoms, but none of them was so challengig as writting this one! :) It was a pleasure to write it for you, and thanks for your appreciation! :)

I'm particularly glad that you didn't take the "easy way out" and make Faramir despondent over his father's death, because Denethor despised him, abused him, whatever. It's always nice to encounter new writers who tread off the beaten path in that respect! :)

I really had in mind to avoid making Faramir despondent or weak, because he truly is not! A man who has the strenght to resist the temptation of the Ring can *never* be a weeping mess! I don't think Denethor abused his son willingly, he *did* love Faramir... in his own way, of course.
So... very glad you read the fic! Thanks for reviewing! :)

Well, as I said, I just relied heavily on the book itself... :)
