Summary: Brian and Joan reunite and Joan vows to see Brian happy.

Returning home late from work, Brian knocked on his mother’s bedroom door and entered when she bid him to. Joan smiled as her son came into her room.

“Sorry, I wasn’t here for dinner, Mom.”

“That’s okay.” Noticing the weariness in his face Joan closed her bible and patted the bed next to her. Brian hesitated, still not used to their new closeness, but finally sat next to her. Joan took his hand. “Brian, I cannot thank you enough for all you’ve done for me. I know I was not the mother you needed and deserved and it would have served me right if you had turned your back on me.” Joan stopped his protest. “No, let me say this. I was a terrible mother to you and Claire. I was unhappy in my marriage and hid behind my religion and inside a bottle of Gin. I am just so happy that I have been given a second chance to be your mother again.”

Brian smiled uneasily. “I am too. I have to admit it still feels strange. Every time we are in the same room, I am still expecting you to tell me I’m going to hell.”

“I know,” Joan said, shaking her head. “I won’t pretend to completely understand your lifestyle, Brian, but I do know I want you to be happy. Maybe settle down with a nice young man someday.”

Brian snorted. “I am not having this conversation with you.” He laughed and stood up.

Joan grinned at the blush on her son’s cheeks. “Justin is a nice young man; don’t you think?”

Brian stopped in his tracks at the door and looked incredulously at her. “Holy shit, Mom!”

“Well, he is.” The blush grew on Brian’s face and Joan’s crooked grin grew.

“Good night,” Brian said as he shut the door.

Joan continued to grin after he left the room. “Good night, Son.” She turned off the light and snuggled down in the bed. “Now to work on Justin.”

“No way!” Daphne’s mouth was wide open.

“I’m serious. The gorgeous guy at Babylon is my patient’s son.”

Daphne sat on the couch as she watched Justin finishing dinner. He piled the pasta on plates and brought them to the living room. “It’s fate, Justin. I mean seriously what are the chances? It’s a small world but holy shit!”

They ate silently for a few minutes until Daphne couldn’t stop herself from asking. “So, when are you going to see him again?”

Shaking his head, Justin sighed. “I’m not. He’s my patient’s son. It would not be appropriate.”

“Don’t be stupid. He’s not your patient and he’s single, gay and gorgeous. I say go for it.” She got up to pour some wine.

Taking the glass offered, Justin shook his head. “I don’t know; it just feels weird. If my patient found out and complained, I could lose my license.”

“She knows her son is gay. Why would she care?”

Justin shrugged and contemplated all the implications. He wondered if Brian really wanted to see him again. The man certainly seemed interested. Maybe he would go to Babylon and find out.

The next day, Brian walked into work and handed his assistant a business card. “Cynthia, see what you can find out about him. Anything and everything.” Cynthia followed him into his office. “He was in some kind of accident a while back, but I’m not sure how long ago. Let me know what you find out.”

“Sure, boss, is he your mom’s therapist?” she asked and Brian nodded. “Is there a problem? Do you want me to see if there are any complaints against him?”

“No, nothing like that. He is very competent; I’m just curious.”

“Okay, I’ll see what I can find out.”

All day Brian’s thoughts kept coming back to Justin. He pictured him in the backroom, over the back of his couch, over his desk, in the pool house and sauna. “Fuck this,” Brian grumbled. Noticing it was almost five o’ clock he put some files in his briefcase and prepared to leave. He sent a few notes to the art department and put some boards in the portfolio to take home when Cynthia came into the office. She handed him a file.

“Here’s what I could find out about Justin Taylor. Nothing sinister, not even a traffic ticket, but it’s really a tragic story; should make some interesting reading. Well, I’m outta here. See you tomorrow.”

Brian stared at the file in his hand, sat back down at his desk and began to read. He couldn’t believe Justin’s story; it should have been the All American story. Upper middle class upbringing, very WASPish, supportive mom and dad, little sister, nice home, white picket fence, then bashed at his senior prom. Dreams of a future as an artist dashed, so he becomes a PT.

Brian’s admiration for Justin began to grow from more than just his nice ass, blond hair and blue eyes. The man was a survivor, like himself. Brian took out his cell phone and dialed.

You have reached 555-7289. I’m unable to take your call at this time, but please leave a message and I’ll call you back as soon as possible.

Brian smiled hearing the familiar voice. “Hey, Justin, this is Brian. I’m going to meet some friends at Woody’s tonight and thought you might like to…come. We’ll be there at seven.” He hung up hoping the young man would show up.

By the time Justin walked into Woody’s the place was crowded. He ordered a beer and leaned against the bar. Hearing cheering by the pool tables, he turned to see Brian, pool cue in hand and his arms raised in victory. He was smiling when Brian noticed him through the crowd, handed his pool stick to Michael and walked towards the bar.

“Hey, where are you going?” Michael asked.

“My prize is at the bar,” Brian said as he waggled his eyebrows and smiled. He walked straight towards Justin. “Glad you could make it.”

“Thanks for the invite,” Justin said as he took a long drink from his beer.

Brian watched the blond’s lips on the bottle, the movement of his throat as he swallowed and as Brian’s eyes drifted lower, the bulge in Justin’s jeans. He wanted nothing more than to take Justin into the bathroom and fuck him senseless, but he wasn’t quite sure how that move would be taken so he shifted his hips to adjust his jeans and waited.

Justin could see the desire in Brian’s eyes and wanted nothing more than to take him into the bathroom and have Brian fuck him senseless, but he settled on a kiss first. Justin reached up, cupped Brian’s neck and pulled him roughly forward to kiss him. Surprised for only a moment, Brian fisted Justin’s soft blond hair and returned the kiss with fervor.

Panting as they broke apart, Justin grimaced. “Not enough, need more.”

“Thank fuck, let’s go,” Brian said and pulled Justin to the bathroom.

Brian pushed Justin into the nearest empty stall and kissed him again. He couldn’t get enough of Justin’s lips. They were so soft, and the things he could do with his tongue made Brian even harder than he was before. Justin began unbuttoning Brian’s jeans and slipped his hand inside, stroking Brian’s cock. All thoughts left Brian except getting his dick in Justin’s ass, so he roughly turned him, jerked his pants down and quickly stretched the blond.

“Hurry!” Justin growled when Brian took too long to put on the condom.

Brian grinned and huskily whispered in Justin’s ear. “Are you sure?”

“Now, dammit, or I’m reversing our positions.”

Brian chuckled to himself as he thrust in fully. He liked this guy’s spunk and he liked his ass even more. All too soon they both grunted their completion and Brian reluctantly removed and discarded the condom. Justin turned and tucked Brian back in his pants and kissed him hard on the lips.

“Fucking incredible,” he smiled.

“Yes, I am,” Brian smirked.

“Do you realize how unprofessional this is? You’re my patient’s son.”

Shrugging, Brian took Justin’s hand, the warmth caught him off guard for a moment, but he continued leading him from the bathroom. “If you knew what I’d done to land some accounts you’d know I have unique ideas on professionalism.” He gave Justin’s hand a squeeze.

Emmett noticed Brian holding the cute blond’s hand as they walked over to the bar. Emmett nudged Ted’s side and motioned with his head. Ted’s eyebrows rose. “What do you think that means?”

“I don’t know, but I like that smile on Brian.” Emmett whispered.

“Everyone, this is Justin. Justin, this is Ted, my accountant, Emmett, my very colorful friend and resident queen, this is Ben, my best friend’s husband, and this is Michael, my best friend.”

“It’s nice to meet all of you,” Justin said with a smile.

Emmett was the first to speak. “So, did you know Brian before or did he just hit the jackpot by sheer luck tonight?”

“Fuck you, Honeycutt. I don’t need luck.” Brian grumbled.

“Don’t call me Honeycutt.” Emmett turned to Justin. “So, how did you meet Mr. Kinney?”

“I met Brian a few days ago,” Justin grinned when Brian pulled him back against his chest. “We met through his mother actually.”

There was a collective gasp. “Wait, your mother introduced you?” Michael asked in shock.

“I told you she has had a change of heart. Otherwise I would never have done all I have for her. I wouldn’t have bought that house for her. In West fucking Virginia for fuck’s sake.”

“Wow, who knew Saint Joan would turn out to be a real saint,” Ted chimed in.

“I wouldn’t go that far…yet.” Brian smirked.

“So, Justin, what do you do?” Ben asked.

“I’m a physical therapist.”

Everyone, knowing that Brian had to arrange for therapy for his mom, began to laugh. “Holy shit, Bri. You’re fucking you mom’s therapist?”

Justin felt a little uncomfortable until he felt Brian tighten his hold on him. He grinned at the expressions on Brian’s friend’s faces. “Yes, he is fucking his mom’s therapist. I believe in treating the whole family, not just the patient.” Justin said without batting an eye.

No one said a word until Brian huffed out a laugh. “Holy shit! Congratulations, Justin, you have done what no one else ever has. You have rendered them speechless.” Brian took Justin’s beer and set it on the table. “Come on, let’s get out of here. See you later, guys.”

“It was really nice to meet all of you.” Justin flashed his brilliant smile and let Brian pull him out of Woody’s by the hand.

They leaned against Brian’s car and kissed. “Stay the night with me,” Brian said and then wondered briefly if a pod person had inhabited his body. But, looking at Justin’s blue eyes and beautiful smile, he knew it was what he wanted. Brian wanted to be with Justin. The younger man made him feel good.

“Brian, I think being at your house when your mom woke up might be pushing the professional boundaries just a bit.”

“You’re right, which is why we could stay at my loft here in Pitts. I use it when I work late, or play late.” He grinned.

Justin rolled his eyes. “I should have guessed.” He laughed and kissed Brian. “Well, what the hell are we waiting for? My ass is already missing your dick.”

Brian grabbed that perfect ass and thrust his tongue down Justin’s throat. “Follow me, it’s not far.” Justin nodded and walked a few cars away where his own was parked.

As he opened his car door, Justin looked up at Brian who was still standing there. “Hurry up!” Justin shouted and wiggled his tongue suggestively at Brian.

Brian laughed and shook his head. As he got in his own car and started to drive, making sure Justin was behind him, he wondered what he was getting himself into. Then he realized he didn’t really care. It felt right with Justin and he was going to enjoy it as far as it would go.
