That is completely out of line. Is he even allowed to do that? Surely you need a reason to fire someone, you can't do it because they're off sick for a day, which I'm assuming is all it was. You can't help being ill.

I'm so sorry that this happened but, like you say, hopefully you can find something way better now. Hope you're okay. *hugs*
