Hold on a second, before you go to that extreme:

Download Ad-Aware from the Lavasoft website and run that.
also go to www.microsoft.com and get the Microsoft anti-spyware Beta and run that, then go to the "spybot - search and destroy" web site and run that!
Then after your system is nice and clean, go out and buy or download a copy of "spy sweeper" at www.webroot.com to keep your system clean and smelling fresh and practicing safe-computer-sex over the Internet...
