Canon: Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is a tale of war, love, betrayal, and magic rocks. The story takes place on the continent of Magvel, a fairly peaceful place until the year 803, when the empire of Grado suddenly invades the nation of Renais. A war breaks out, and monsters begin lurking in the shadows, unseen for over 800 years. The wonder twins Eirika and Ephraim must set out on a journey to stop both the war and the source of the newly resurrected evil.
Assisting the twins is L'Arachel, the vivacious and flamboyant princess of the theocracy of Rausten. Calling herself "the beautiful princess of peerless beauty," she is determined to ride through the continent, fighting for justice and order by vanquishing the evil monsters that have taken over the land. Self-centered, stubborn, and commanding, L'Arachel thinks highly of both herself and her self-assigned mission. She does an exceptional job of filtering out whatever she doesn't want to hear, and will think whatever she pleases to think, much to the dismay of those around her. Despite this, L'Arachel honestly cares about the state of the continent and those she is close to, and while she is undeniably after the fame and glory, she also genuinely wants peace and safety for the people.

And evil there must be, for everywhere I look I see only the signs of monsters and fiends. Sea life should not be found so far from the sea if it is not served on a plate, and birds should most certainly not be insulting my elegance when flying past! Why, even the name of this village has been profaned! And these revenants lurching about in the shadows-I see that I have my work cut out for me.
Oh, but do not be in despair! With my blessed hands, I shall end this reign of terror and restore peace to the land. No longer shall you fear going outside lest these monsters attack you! They are truly evil beings, with no regard whatsoever for anything else but their own voracious appetite. Look at them, joined at the mouth and the lower extremities in such a vulgar, inappropriate way. Such actions are entirely grotesque and not at all suitable for a refined noblewoman like myself to be watching. Are they not aware that there are other people about? To be in public and still do all...that...touching...
...Ahhhhhh! This simply will not do! This behavior has gone long enough! Prepare yourselves, for the shining jewel of Rausten shall now unleash the light of order and justice upon you! Behold! Witness now how these fiends fall to pieces at my magic! Truly, my power is most impressive. Oh, but do not be mistaken! I found absolutely no pleasure in destroying you. No, no, that would be most unacceptable for a holy woman such as myself. It is merely my duty, you see, for I am L'Arachel, champion of justice! And in the name of Rausten, I will right wrongs and triumph over evil-and that meant you.
