China - Day 8

subway - as in the sandwich
we were woken up at alarm time, but turns out we couldve all slept half the day away, because the weather was bad so the zoo was canceled.
we, for once, decided to take a cab over to the ap so we wouldnt get as wet in the rain. boy was that a bad idea! the cabby took the busier road and we ended up getting stuck in major traffic. dad was just looking at the meter watching his money roll away. he was like "we should get off right here!" in the middle of the street. the rain had reduced to a drizzle so we agreed and walked the rest of the way, which was only half of the regular distance. still, a hefty amount of perspiration was accumulated...
the others were going to some market to buy junk so i didnt feel compelled to join. so me and osama spent the day together on opposite sides of the living room with yet another scrubs marathon in the bg. at like 2 we went to subway for lunch. obviously i know what subway is but i dont think ive ever been to subway in my life! at least i dont remember it. but we went and i got seriously overwhelmed by the pressure. the line was building. i had to pick bread, meat, toppings, dressing. it all went so fast. in the end my samm included turkey breast with regular salads and stuff with some weird mayo in a parmesan and oregano bun. the mayo was a big mistake but otherwise it tasted really nice.
and then the peeps came back again after a while and we had brinner! it was so funny because there had just been an episode of scrubs about brinner and then the same day we get frickin brinner?! i mean coincident? i think not. so anywho it was pancakes with syrup and bacon. not my ideal kind of food, but it went its merry way down to my stomach.
left not too late and walked home. they felt that since i hadnt been outside the ap for the whole day i needed some exercise. whatevs...but it was a really nice walk back though. the temp was ok and the buildings are all lit up. we are getting very chummy with a store along the road back and fro the ap. we always buy ice cream and drinks from there and they recognize us now. fun stuff.
