China - Day 15

Traveling
rolled over at 5:30 and noticed that no one else was sleeping so i dragged my ass out of bed and started packing the last few things and crammed down a stale sandwich down my throat so i wouldnt get freaking car sick again. lol we also had yogurts but those tasted so fraking nasty i didnt finish it. maaahhn this place and making good stuff taste weird. that happened a lot with yogurts i might add...
but we get everything together and head down to check out. van picks us up and ships all 59 of us to the airport. we drop the scots off first at a different terminal. hugging ensues. there has been talk of another reunion next year in the us at aunts place. im sooo not going.
when we get to our check in desk they tell us our flight has been delayed for like an 1½ h. dad starts freaking out a bit about missing out connecting flight. at that point, after spending 2 whole weeks with the dude, i was like whaaaatever! if we miss it theyll just put us in a hotel for the night til we can get a new flight. not a biggie, except for the fact that we dont actually get home...still. hes gotta learn how to chillax a little.
so now the plane is taking off at 12:15 and we have like 4 hours to waste til we even get to board. we got there so early because the cousin's flight was earlier.
i park my ass in the gate and get my laptop going. ive never taken this thing out of the country before so airport internet connection was something new. turns out its a bitch. my comp is a little whiny when it has to use wireless anyways but ohhmigod! it disconnected like every 30 seconds. i still got like 3 hours of fan ficcing time in :D
this was the 8 hour flight so we strapped ourselves in for the long haul and got snacks! little pretzels and juice :)
what made this flight even better was that me and sis were sitting next to each other like 3 rows away from dad!! haha heaven! nice to take a break from him and his constant joyful musical numbers, accompanied by tap dancing, about flying!
he doesnt do musical numbers....or tap dance.
the entertainment hadnt been updated since we last flew so the same movies still applied. i saw Hes Just Not That Into You first, simply because of the cast. the premise of the movie seemed completely stupid but i really wanted to see jennifer connelly in a comedy. i was right. i didnt really like the movie.
but we got lunch during it and i did like that :P it was almost chinese looking chicken stuff with rice and those greats buns (stay out of the gutter) and some cookie looking thing for dessert. it was nice.
anywho, back to the movie. all of it wasnt bad. i laughed quite a few times at some random jokes but the entire movie was just about guys realizing they like certain chicks and the girls just waiting and pining away. felt so stupid. then i imagined myself in like 15 years, i was like 'that could totally happen to me'. if i turn out like them i am so jumping off a cliff!
my first impression of the movie of the girl just hovering over her phone 24/7 was unbearable!! so fraking horrible and i hate dating movies and crap like this. but at least it got somewhat bearable after that. kinda.
ok well, onto the actors. so as i said ive never seen JC in anything but sad stuff. same really applied to this movie. she had to carry the emotional part. and there were times i could tell something in the scene was supposed to be funny but sometimes she just delivered things so deadpan i just didnt catch on until afterwards.but the funny parts i did catch were really good :) but i still love her despite being part of this crapshoot.
i was sorta excited about seeing busy phillips and sasha alexander on screen again. especially sasha. shes barely been in anything since ncis. sad...
justin long is always awesome! so is drew barrymore. she is made of win! im going to ignore the fact that i just put the two of them in the same line and that they dated but are no longer...read nothing into this.
now i hate ben affleck and was like blaaaaah during his first scenes until he gave his little explanation about not wanting to marry her but how committed he still is. i think ive stated maybe once or twice *cough* that i dont get marriage and that its just something society has made the norm and i really dont see a point to it. and i was on his side through all of it!! but that awful anvil when bradley said he was a happily married i simply ignored so i could try to believe he was never gonna ask her to marry him. women are so annoying with wanting to get married all the time!! jeez. this was the only storyline i felt something for. he was so set on never getting married! and then she broke him down and he caved anyways. gaawwds i hated him right then! with a purple passion! they shouldve ended their SL after the boat scene where she was all 'sure! you dont have to marry me' and he was all like 'sweeet'! im choosing to simply ignore their last scenes. bastard. but he actually made me tear up when he showed up at the house after jens dad had a heart attack and the other husbands were just being asshats. that guy just seemed really perfect. the only thing that wouldve made that dude even better was if he wasnt played by affleck. that took away some points... but isnt it more special to choose to be with someone for the rest of your life than being attached to, and living out your life with, someone who you might not even like in 10 years time. to actually stay with someone because you want to is so much more beautiful than to stay with someone out of obligation! i do not understand the ways of the world we live in.
loved the gay guys scene of explaining the signals. just stares of different length! lol! seriously one of the funniest things in this thing. stereotypical but still funny.
another thing that was funny but couldve been made into an epic pic up line was when jen sat alone at the wedding and this guy sits down and starts talking about being a witch and wicca and stuff!! lol! it was funny but it wouldve made such a great conversation starter for a pick up if he had just stopped after "it wouldnt fit on the card"! it wouldve made it sound like a joke and he wouldve totally gotten laid if he just wouldve laughed after that! but noooo. hahaha he was serious about it. the entire time i was thinking he was just being funny but then he was serious about it!! lol yea...
loved that they used the keane song in the end. havent heard it in a new movie like ever. i love keane!
frak i cant believe how much i wrote about a movie i didnt like...
then i saw Duplicity, mostly because of julia but also because i saw a clip of it and it seemed funny. i was wrong. i mean it had its funny parts but jeez it was boring. i thoroughly enjoyed jules nekkid lying in bed throughout, but you could tell this movie wanted to throw twists at you and i mostly find twist extremely annoying. feels like they just want to screw you over. and both movies twisted! frak you guys!
all they did was play each other and lie and i could care less. i barely knew what was going on half of the time. half way through i was so over them as a couple and didnt care if they pulled the scam off. and what i really didnt get was why those two. why did they get played? was it because the old dude knew they were going to play him? seriously, did. not. get. this. movie.
but lol! the fight in the beginning was awesome! all slo-mo and raining and old dudes acting 25. nicely shot.
so yea that was pretty much it. hahah all my energy went to rant about the rom com. i did love to see jules back onscreen though. missed her.
then i saw some cartoons. tom and jerry and looney tunes. is it wrong that i totally think cartoons are inappropriate for children?
i read my book. finally some stuff happened. there was shooting and blood and stupidity going on. good times. but seems interesting enough. i might actually finish it once i get home. still like 400 pages left. jeez. no its unlikely that gonna happen until im away from my comp for a significant amount of time.
dinner!! that was made up of some spaghetti stuff, covered in goo which i assume was cheese. got some salad and another bun and then there was an energy/protein bar. i dont know what theyre called but theyre tasty yet theres only like rice and fruit stuff in them! yum!
as we landed it was late afternoon. close to 4 and we had to haul ass through the airport to get to the connecting flight. we didnt really have to since we got there with like 20 minutes to spare...and the weirdest thing was that a ton of people from our plane were already there and waiting in line when we got there!? i was like "hhuuuh?? we ran here! how did those old dudes beat us?" but the flight took off late anyhow. but it felt like we just took off, got a sandwich and then landed again. took no time at all. ooo and we got one of those nice sandwiches with salad and stuff in it, not just a bun. yea i really like those sandwiches :D
bags came out ok and we went to find the buses that would take us to our car. yea that was problematic in itself. lol but when we got to the car, which was still standing just where and as we left it, we couldnt get out of the parking lot. we were missing some sort of receipt and the gate wouldnt open! anywho there was a joke about numbery numbers but then we got out of there and headed home.
its nice to be back. if not only to be able to access youtube again, the feeling of just being home is good.
