It was announced on Monday that where I work is likely to be closed down from the end of June this year. Obviously details are very sketchy at this stage and there are no definites at this stage, but equally the information that we have makes it seem like it is 99.999999% certain of happening. As I said, they wouldn't make an announcement like that

Congratulations for seeing something that could be totally terrible as a positive thing. :)

As far as Dan's situation is concerned, there really are no down sides to this! As he was changing jobs soon anyway, it makes no difference to him other than he gets a very generous pay packet for leaving.

The only sad thing is that other people will be genuinely affected by this. Hopefully they'll be able to find something else soon.
