I agree with everything you said, but I don't want to sound heartless.
9/11 was indeed horrific, and if our religion commands us to show compassion towards our enemies, then surely the innocent victims of 9/11 and their families and loved ones deserve our compassion even more (no matter how much we feel bitter and angry about the ongoing suffering of our brothers and sisters in Iraq).
(What if Japan never got over Nagasaki and Hiroshima? nd that was was more devastating as well as sanctioned by our freaking government.)
That's the main reason why I'm in such an awe of the Japanese nation as a whole. This is a nation that have learned from its past and created a better future. I wish we can all do the same.
Some of the things people say about Muslims are frightening and would look like a passage from Mein Kampf if you replaced the word "Muslim" with "Jews"
*People of Afghanistan* (the original place they went & destroyed & still are to this day) Please do not ever forget them..
Oh no they haven't moved on - it is all over the news and we are still harassed because we are Muslim even to this day.. 911 is always a big huge memorial to what "they the Muslims" (like it was all of us?) did to "us" because they did not like "our way of life" I am like ARGH whatever..
& to answer the question from a not so deep point of view,
It is a day I have to stay inside like a bird locked in a cage for fear of backlash.. every year.. & yet they claim it is "free" here..
Our Masjid was vandalized earlier on that week, and our tires were slashed.. Cowards. I have a lot of animosity, but I must remember not everyone is this way - in fact a large amount of people are not - it is just the ones who ruin it for everyone else. :-(
