Karasu awoke with a start as the hand pressed to his adam's apple, sucking in a quick, painful breath. Immediately, his hands reached out, groping for Link's shoulders with the intent to throw him backwards, if possible, eyes narrowing.

The pressure intensified when Karasu's hands gripped his shoulders. The shade's eyes widened, pupils huge in the gloom and teeth bared in a rictus snarl.

"I told you," he hissed, "Didn't I?"

Without his precious mask at the moment, the demon's eyes narrowed into slits, lips parting as he bared his own teeth in anger...and perhaps excitement.

"Oh...so you did." he managed to growl out. "A pity...that I don't listen..."

"You should've," the Shade growls, low in his throat, lowering his head to where his hands are on Karasu's throat. His grip slackens a little and his hand shifts.

"He's all I have," His teeth scrape against the skin of Karasu's throat, "And I don't like sharing..."
