This is the e-mail I got last night:
UCF Career Services & Experiential Learning is currently looking for
students who are majoring in Finance to participate in UCF/Lockheed
Martin College Work Experience Program. The UCF/Lockheed Martin
College
Work Experience Program provides UCF students an opportunity to gain
professional work experience related to their academic discipline
while
maintaining full-time university enrollment, afford students an
opportunity for career exploration and extend the University's
classroom
into the corporate community. To receive more information visits our
web-site at...
These are the requirements for the program:
Student must be eligible to obtain a security clearance upon request.
Student must be enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Central Florida and taking a minimum of 12 credit hours as an undergraduate student or taking a minimum of 9 credit hours as a post baccalaureate/graduate student. Any college credits being taken at another institution must be in addition to full-time enrollment at UCF.
Student must have completed at least one semester at UCF, and must establish a UCF GPA of at least 3.0 in order to apply.
Student must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, both UCF and overall, as an undergraduate student or a minimum GPA of 3.2, both UCF and overall, as a post bac/graduate student. Failure to maintain these requirements will result in termination.
Student must inform the College Work Experience Program and campus coordinator of changes in academic program/major, GPA, work schedule, supervision and/or location as they occur.
Student must work a minimum of 12 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Graduate students and seniors in their last semester are permitted to work up to 30 hours per week.
Student is not allowed to hold another employed position without approval of the campus coordinator or College Work Experience Program staff while participating in the program.
Student must give a two week notice of resignation from the program and schedule an exit interview with the College Work Experience Program coordinator.
What do you think? Should I go for it and give my two week notice to the testing lab people, or should I hold off another semester. As soon as I'm off work (how ironic is it that I'm think about it at work?), I'm going to call and get specifics about the job (Paid/unpaid, location of work facility, etc.). I think I'm going to apply regardless though... to get my resume on Knightlink...
Seriously though, if you read this, respond!
