Jeez... I thought yesterday was rough. I had forgotten what the date was today. Feb 28th. End of the month. One of the twelve big days of they year ( Read more... )

Bah. Silly people. I had printer trouble of a different sort today: before school, I wanted to print something off on the team room printer. Realised there was no paper. Reached across to 'steal' some out of the photocopier. Found *that* only had 1 sheet in it. Wandered through to the room next door, to 'steal' paper out of that printer. Found it only had 3 sheets in it. Wandered through to the next room (one of the workshops) and found a stack of paper 2 reams high in there...

Later on (last lesson), our group were trying to print out their packaging designs, on A4, on the colour printer in our workshop. It kept requesting we put A3 paper in it (the other teacher having specifically changed it from A3 to A4 just before the lesson) - we were trying to figure out who had their paper setup wrong in our group - turned out to be a teacher in the next workshop who was sending to the wrong printer! And we're generally one of the *good* departments for knowing our IT!

Anyway, *hugs*, and congrats on aceing the hard exam ^_^

*hugs back* Blah, yeah... I'm just pissed off that I fluffed the easy exam one one justifiable and most likely one not justifiable mistake.

Heh :) and at work, I'd have been totally sunk if I didn't know a bit about printers.

Seriously though, I'm starting to think that people who don't know what they're doing should just be allowed to raise their hand, say they've no idea what they're doing and not be penalised for it except to be forbidden to use whatever equipment is in question until they've been trained. =<-<=

Hell, I had to 'fix' the photocopier four times today... But all that really entailed was pressing the button to switch it from the external sheet feeder back to the internal tray.

*headdesk* don't start talking about photocopiers... those & phones I struggle with far more than most computer-based things. I think it's the knowledge that there is no way I could re-program it, no matter how much I learn...

but yes, there should be training available on 'simple' things, not just assume that "everyone knows it"

Well, I'm thinking more of an accepted way of someone who isn't capable of dealing with a situation of registering their inability and thus being issued with a court order to not come within reach of any equipment they may break, bend or otherwise incapacitate due to not knowing what the heck they're doing with it...

*chuckles* days like this do make me think that ignorance is bliss though... if I didn't know how to fix it, my life would be much simpler... Oh well, it's broken, no need to worry, that's someone elses field xD

Like the poor mouse belonging to one of the sales girls... It's probably old enough to have a bus pass and I don't think it's ever been cleaned... (possibly partly due to the fact that it's that old, the ball can not actually be removed) She was beating the heck out of the desk with it. I can't imagine that'll improve it's performance much.

I might just take in a pair of tweezers and clean it for her tomorrow.

Bleh, that sounds awful. :( You should get a bonus or something, seems like you've had to handle way more responsibility this week than you're meant to. Is there no one else who can help you besides the chief accountant? *hugs you tight* Get a full night's sleep tonight and you'll feel better in the morning. Hopefully the rest of the week won't be nearly as hectic now the end of the month's passed. :) (Well, that's kind of a guess since I don't know anything about accounting...)

So, our new deal: you do your best at work, take deep breaths when you can and then put your feet up in the evening while you forget all about it, and I will get on with my uni work and not faff around or get depressed about it. Hang in there!

Oh, the day I could deal with... but to find out about the exam over such a stupid point... I mean, I could argue the matter of interpretation, but they'd still say "well, you still put the other figure in the wrong column, so we're not gonna change it." That was just the last thing I needed.

As far as the workload goes, month end usually goes on for about a week... I think I broke the worst of the additional work to do, but we'll find out tomorrow. Fingers crossed and it'll be all okay.

Still... I will make a proviso to the deal before I accept... Good nights sleep are kinda hard due to people moving around our house at strange hours, but if you're prepared to not faff at uni or get depressed over it, I will do everything I can to -try- and get adequate r&r whilst not slacking off at work.

Whaddya say, work hard, play hard and make the best use of what hours of sleep we can get? *chuckles* good enough deal?
