Discussion Post: Episodes 3.12 - Meltdown - NO SPOILERS

Jul 26, 2010 22:58

Please do not post spoilers for any episodes past the episode being watched in this thread! That includes spoileriffic icons.

Trying to come up with coherent ideas for this episode really.... doesn't work.

It has such fabulous hand-wavey skience, there should be no shock why I love watching it and love Doctor Who.

1. I often wonder if the writers thought through the whole Sierjna (whose name I've probably butchered) thing at all. How terrifyingly horrific that she was stuck in a half-life for so long. Always watching the ships as they crashed against the rocks (one wonders if the tales of the Sirens have the wrong of it).

2. This episode has excellent hoyay. Or however it's spelt. Aeryn and John all over each other, Crais increasingly insane, Rygel, Stark--oh, Starky.

3. The idea that a corporation could hire someone to deliberately do this sort of thing is rather horrific, but not really... surprising, given corporate culture and the need to compete. Still, I suppose it's no worse than hiring an assassin to take out the head of your competition.

4. The loyalties shift and slide, and no one really trusts everyone else (Talyn, Stark, Rygel, Crais, John, Aeryn--they all have their own ideas of how things should be done).

5. John's obsession with Crais is sort of annoying? I can understand it, but I'm like, "OMG GET OVER IT" about it.

Next Week: Scratch'n'Sniff (ready the tequila)
