Being new here isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I have to say, this place is pretty impressive tolerable. I figured this would be a good time to introduce myself, so you all can learn early on not to underestimate me. The name's Cassie, and yes I'm age impaired. Get over it ( Read more... )

time for intros, yes she's serious about this, tlv, she's so friendly

Hayley. What brings you to the Barge? It's a pretty fucked up place.

I have my reasons. There's something I want, and I found a way to get it.

That makes sense. Be careful with most of the inmates; lying and killing are pretty common around here. Also, there's these things called floods where your mind gets messed with.. Usually you know when they're coming, but not always, and they can be pretty traumatizing. Sometimes you forget who you are and stuff. There's also ports, where we dock at a world that's totally unfamiliar and messes with your mind there too. It kinda sucks overall, but just make sure you don't fall off and you should be okay.

Oh, and be careful around Belthazor. He's a demon and a charming dick.

So basically I should prepare myself for a lot of messing with my mind. It's not anything new, I should be able to handle it. I usually get a heads up when something bad is about to happen to me, so I won't be left entirely defenseless.

You're like ten. How are you supposed to take charge of anything?

I'm thirteen, actually, and I'll go ahead and refer you back to the part where I said to get over it.

Cassie's awesome. tangentdarko July 8 2010, 01:42:20 UTC
I just don't get how anyone is supposed to take you seriously.

They can learn to get over themselves and realize that age is only a number, it has nothing to do with actual maturity and capability. I've met people three times my age who I've had to take care of, so you'll have to forgive me for not caring if anyone takes me seriously. I'm here to do a job, not make friends.

...define 'age impaired', love. Are you, say, legal in most of Europe and just short, or... like a kid?

As charming as it is to discuss legalities with you, I'm going to have to leave it as I'm not legal where I come from, and that's all you need to know.

In that case, I'm thirteen. Age doesn't mean anything when it comes to getting the job done, though. I know it's going to be hard, but I'm determined to do it.

Nice way to sound like a kid playing dress-up. You won't go far with those stereotypes in mind.

You're free to think whatever you want about me. I'm here to get a job done, and I'm not going to have anyone babying me while I try to do that.

I'm not here to play babysitter. Only saying that not all inmates are as bad as you think.

All people are as bad as I think. Inmates, wardens, all of us.

Age-impaired implies Benjamin Button and you don't look 70.

I guess old people are weakened and diminished, but I was attempting to fill in my introduction with a little humor.

You look like you could either be small enough to be in middle school and cocky enough to kick my ass.

If I had bothered going to school the past couple of years, I'd be in eighth grade by now. But good job in figuring out the latter part, I'm almost impressed.
