The coral reefs in the Caribbean, while not as spectacular, have the same ability to mesmerize. My husband who is not a very good swimmer at all and has similar fears of swimming in natural waters with critters was completely captivated and swam much longer and farther than usual when we got to go snorkeling on our honeymoon at St. John in the USVI. I think the most exotic creatures we got to see were seahorses and a moray eel, but the overall effect of exploring a completely different world was amazing.

I am totally enjoying your travelogues. They are giving me much inspiration for future vacations.
