I'm trying to catch up with Doctor Who and I'm so confused.  The last I saw of the series....should I do a cut?  It's been a while to do a cut, I'm not doing a stinkin cut.  ANYway, Everybody and I mean Everybody was flying the TARDIS together and it was wonderful and then everybody left the Doctor in the dust and it sucked.  I was so blegh after ( Read more... )

Thaaaaat...sounds like you saw the end of Season 4? Rose came back and then left again, Donna got a memory wipe, etc.? Yeah, it was all horrible. None of the specials were particularly good, imo, although they had their moments, and unless you just really want to see everything I would skip them...but then you won't see Ten regenerate into Eleven (at the end of The End of Time part 2)... But the inter-season specials are:
"The Next Doctor"
"Planet of the Dead"
"The Waters of Mars"
The End of Time, part 1 & 2

And then you get to the GOOD STUFF. Season 5! It is awesome. It starts with 'The Eleventh Hour'. Followed by:

"The Beast Below"
"Victory of the Daleks"
"The Time of Angels" pt 1
"Flesh and Stone" pt 2
"The Vampires of Venice"
"Amy's Choice"
"The Hungry Earth" pt 1
"Cold Blood" pt 2
"Vincent and the Doctor"
"The Lodger"
"The Pandorica Opens" pt 1
"The Big Bang" pt 2

Thanks! I'll probably just watch both parts of The End of Time. I want to see him regenerate and at least the first episode with the new doctor. Who I'm still very very skeptical about. I just don't like his look, but I've heard good things about him.

Apparently Benedict Cumberbatch was offered the roll of 11, but he turned it down. And then the new guy auditioned for Watson on 'Sherlock' but they went with Martin (woohoo!) and he got the roll as the Doctor.

I was very, very skeptical about 11--I didn't like his look either, I thought his face was weird, I thought that I would hate him. But I LOVE HIM. So, y'know, he has that to recommend him :P And the scripts are so good. The finale is EPIC. For real epic, not attempted and crashed and burned epic like S4.

Hah! Man, I am trying to picture all of those roles switched up and it is hurting my brain--although I think Benedict Cumberbatch would make a fantastic Doctor, I like him even more as Sherlock, and there is no one for Watson but Martin, this is undeniable truth.

I'm excited to start S5 now. Losing Ten was hard. So hard. So sad! *weeps* But I liked the all of two seconds we saw of 11. I knew he'd say something about not being ginger. XD

It does hurt the brain! I agree though, Cumberbatch could do the Doctor but 11 (I need to learn his name) is by no means Watson-y enough. Cumberbatch is really starting to maybe be my favorite interpretation as Holmes. I've really only seen the big hitters, (Rathbone, Brett, Downey-if-he-counts). But Cumberbatch is soooo good. He's kind of the coldest version yet, (book-Holmes can be quite warm and funny if calculating and moody on and off), but in a way it is a colder world now what with two world wars, terrorism, and the technological age. Or I just like his cheekbones. ANYway, fanwanking over.
