I'm going to a wedding of someone who I'm really not too enthused with. Anyway, it's a casual afternoon wedding so I bought this dress:

I just really don't want to go this wedding to begin with, so I'm hoping to make this as painless as possible!

But I'll look for low heeled open toe sandals. Thanks!

Very cute dress...I agree with the above comment...the dress looks a little too "dressy" for flip flops I think, and it is a wedding.

I think you should wear a colorful cardigan or shawl too. Some people frown upon white dresses at weddings. How about some cute espadrilles?

If I can find a pair of cute espardrilles, I'd wear them! A lot of the ones I've found have been too grandma-ish!

The bride is wearing green, so I think I can pull off the white!

Dressy flip flops would be fine, I think, but consider how they would affect your walk. You don't want to trip over on your big day!

It's not my wedding! I'm just a guest (thankfully).

PLEASE wear something else! daharja May 19 2006, 03:45:10 UTC
Then don't wear the dress!

Unless you bought it another colour! Wearing white (or any shade thereof) is considered one of the biggest insults you can make to a bride. It really detracts from the bride herself. Even if she doesn't wear white herself.

Standard etiquette demands that women do not wear white - or any shade of white - to weddings. It's the bride's day, and white is her colour.

Please wear something else, in another colour, in deference to your friend.

Trust me on this one - it really is considered insulting (and quite tacky) to wear white to a wedding if you're not the bride. Wear something else.

Espadrilles or the open toed high heeled sandals. If it was a beach wedding, I'd say go for the flip flops.

Why is she wearing green?
