The Supreme Power

Okay, for those of you not already in the know, all of us over in the EA camp have recently been expanding our minds with old Godfrey Ho ninja movies from the '80s starring Richard Harrison. These things are absolutely legendary. This being the case, I've done the internet a service by uploading Ninja Terminator, which I suggest that you watch ( Read more... )

Holy shit man. I watched the first 15 minutes of Ninja Terminator, and a part of my soul has been forever infused with ninjitsu power by it. I'm going to finish it when it's not 4 AM, but THANK YOU.

I forgot I had you friended on Livejournal. It took me forever to figure out that you were that dude who is awesome at art on the internet! Though, I can't remember if you were on Sheezy or DA.

Oh jeez. I THOUGHT the names "Joseph Lai" and "IDF Films" sounded familiar- turns out it's the same production company behind one of my favorite animated movies ever, Space Transformer(s).

NINJA TERMINATOR: BETTER THAN ADVERTISED. Man am I glad they seamlessly integrated the Jaguar Won storyline into Two Whitey Ninja Legend, 'cause Tiger Chen's hair was just amazing.

The preview for Ninja Squad, though, leaves me a LITTLE confused. Between the two white dudes facing off at each other wearing dollar-store NINJA headbands (y'know, just in case the day-glo ninja outfits they're wearing didn't clue you) and the "Epic drama of romance" tagline being set against a dude machinegunning the hell out of some gangsters(?), I'm pretty sure Godfrey Ho's just fucking with us.

We've been looking up some pretty incredible stuff on Godfrey Ho & Richard Harrison since you took off for the night.

Interview with Richard Harrison, dude got fucked badly, but we kind of figured that much. Comes off as pretty nice if a bit too trusting of shady, low-budget film productions. It reveals that there were only two movies that were chopped into the twenty-odd Ninja movies that Harrison ostensibly starred in.

Meanwhile, Godfrey Ho is unbelievably full of shit, continually contradicts himself, and when cornered he reflexively snaps back with "IT WAS JOSEPH LAI'S FAULT". Comes off as a serious douchebag. The Tomas Tang note at the bottom is a bit sketchy; Dragon Lee is apparently not dead? Tomas Tang is either a real person or a psuedonym of a series of successive owners of Filmark or was put to rest after some producer bearing his mantle died in a fire or is still alive and attending film shows??? Another of the actors that worked with him claims that Ho wanted to be referred to as Tomas Tang on the set, so I'd ( ... )
