Farming in VirginiasocialisthoboJuly 23 2008, 02:01:53 UTC
Greetings-what can you write about farming in the fall and winter in Virginia? I actually just sent a letter to a farm in Trevilians, VA, and was wondering if I should worry about getting there early, or if there'll be plenty of work into November maybe...

unfortunately i have not figured a way to own my own farm yet... but it is pretty cold here in november, i know most pumpkins are harvested in october (at least the ones my plant nursery sells) other than that im not really sure...
how are you coming? are you woofing? i am very interested in farming and such... how did you happen upon me?

I myself have never owned land, though I've been able to get work farming or gardening all over the States.
I'm not exactly sure how I'm coming, it depends on where I'll stay and for how long I can. No, I've written to a Catholic Worker Farm and Twin Oaks, though I'll probably farm at both. Would you recomend any WWOOF farms in VA? I found your journal through this post: http://community.livejournal.com/organic_garden/217296.html.
