I think we like to (or feel pressured to) pretend we're happy, and not just in pictures; "happiness" is something everyone is striving for. But what's so great about something that is always just out of reach? I find it frustrating... And sometimes, I'm okay with being frustrated instead of happy. Some sad songs are captured beautifully, why can't sad expressions be the same? We have different emotions for different scenarios, yet we are still told to use that repetitious smile for each scattered, frozen moment in all of these different scenarios to appear that we are happy, whether it matches our true emotion or not... it's a facade, and it's sad to realise that.

Our cultures and traditions have told us that we look best in pictures when smiling, but some people look better when they're solemn, or mid-laugh, or sleeping, or even drinking a beer... So I say, yes, maybe we should start a new trend by bringing the old trend back; Let's embrace the old-fashioned. :)

"Wow, I fucking love standing in front of the Christmas tree"
