On Giant Sized Astonishing #1

Well, after four years and more delays than I can count, the Astonishing run comes to an end.

I'm not going to rant, because I don't think it's warranted.  Nor has the end of the story itself left me in any sort of mood to want to rant.

Overall, I can't find a lot of fault with the issue itself without being horribly nit-picky and petty. There are ( Read more... )

If it makes you feel any better, originally Kitty DID die in this issue. The reason for the massive delays on this last issue was they actually went back and changed the ending so she lived, in part because so many people expected him to kill her off by then. So yeah, it was originally intended to be worse. She's fairly easily brought back, should any other writer want to do so.

After all, Rachel's still out there in Shi'ar space, and who knows where the bullet's headed next.

But yeah, all in all, I was left disappointed with Whedon's run, which started out so strong. I've read the first couple scripts of Ellis's run though, looks good so far.

I'm not sure if it makes me feel any better or not. Death, or an indefinite amount of time spent bonded to a giant bullet travelling through space. It doesn't seem like much of an improvement, other than that it'll be easier to bring her back.

Which, hopefully, they'll do soon.

I can't even comment on whether or not I liked the run; I'd have to go back and re-read it all to honestly say. Things came out so slowly I can barely remember the beginning anymore.

I've got to admit, though, I liked this issue for the most part. And if Kitty Had to go off into space bonded to a giant bullet? Whedon did it really well.

I want to see Ellis scripts... *pouts*
