Yesterday I went to my favorite pistol range with my folks and my brother. By the way, it may be too dry for you (it kinda was for me) but there's an interesting book by Saul Cornell of Ohio State University called "A Well-Regulated Militia" that pretty much chronicles the legal history of gun control legislation in America.
