Well I don't really ask people questions to make conversation. I don't make conversation in general. That's not to say I never participate in conversation, more that it would be an understatament to say that it is unlikely that I would go up to them and just start asking them questions about their lives for the sake of talking.

I have no problem talking to my aunt about cause she's my aunt, but Pat...eh... Pat's an asshole. He'd probably only have terrible things to say about it anyway.

Oh. And if you feel awkward about asking them now, when you're in a stage of your life where it's socially acceptable to still be forming your life goals, think of how awkward you'll feel when you're older and asking them. It wouldn't be a bad thing to be asking in ten years, even - better late than never - but I'm just saying...it's not as awkward to be asking now in the context of things.
