Recently I have a bought a few old manual focus lenses to use on my rebel/350d with an adapter and some of them are really amazing in terms of quality. None of them cost more than about £10 but some of them are as good as my most expensive lenses. Obviously the downside is you get no autofocus but it's not so bad when you get used to it.
