Though I don't totally dig Kerry, I'm knee deep in loathing for Bush, lol.
My biggest problem with Bush is that he wants to constrict rights. I'm so anti-abortion it is silly, I think God should strike people dead, lol. BUT my problem with making it illegal is that they are taking away our rights! They should only be making laws that keep us free, not lock up our decision making abilities.
I've been so frustrated with this campaign that I haven't done much research lately.. but your post made me decide to start paying a bit more attention. :) Thanks for opening my eyes to a few things I wasn't aware of!
Well written post.. and helpful for people like me who don't know all that much about politics!
I agree 100% with your views on abortion - I would never get one, but it's not my right (or anybody else's) to tell a woman what she can't do with her body. I'm not sure how I feel about the death penalty.. but eh :-/
And I also agree that people our age need to get out and vote. They don't know who we're voting for, so essentially they could vote for their dog. But just by voting, we get our voice out there and raise the numbers! It's a shame that the educated young adult population has to suffer for all the others who think voting is a waste of time.
It's strange because people are so quick to criticize everything that's wrong with this country, but when it comes time for a change - they don't take action.

Exactly, get yourself informed and then take stand. As soon as I turned 18 I made it a point to not allow ignorance to take over me. I have not looked back since!
