RULES

Characterization

1) No godmodding.

*

Your character may be a god, but you can't control another person's character without prior permission.

2) No passive aggressive RPing.

*

Keep your character interesting and involved. It will make your time here much more enjoyable.

3) Be aware of how your character's knowledge of their godhood can affect them in real life

*

The longer your character has been Aware, the more like their myth they will be. Some may lose pieces of their humanity or be out of contact with how the world works now, especially if they have been Aware since they were young.

4) No drama. IC =/= OOC.

*

Remember that just because someone's character calls your character a brat, does not mean the mun is calling you a brat. Keep any drama between your characters between your characters and not between players.

5) Choosing a side

*

Some gods are loners, and so you're not required to immediately pick a side. However, there may be consequences if your character chooses to remain neutral-- Mordred, for example, is focusing on eliminating any possible threats, and Merlin will not help you if you are not helping him. It helps to have allies. Of course, your character is not permanently attached to whichever side he or she chooses. It is perfectly understandable to have a character that changes his/her mind about things as they develop further in the game.

6) Circumstantial Requirements

*

Your character must be at least 18 years of age, and either living in or somehow on their way to LA. It is up to you to come up with a reason why they would be.

7) Manifestations of powers are allowed!

*

We do allow and encourage small manifestations of power. Being able to grow flowers well, sense things beneath the earth, or talking to the dead are ways to show your character is not quite human. However, anything that has a higher magnitude, such as earthquakes or causing tsunamis, is not allowed at this point in the game. Feel free to have fun with how your character's powers present themselves as long as it is within the boundaries of your myth.

8) No modern religions.

*

When deciding on a character, please be aware that we do not accept any modernly worshiped gods, nor legendary figures from current religious texts.

Activity/Hiatus/Drops

1) Be active!

*

Try to keep your character involved in each game week. (Each game week = two real-life weeks, so all we're asking for is some show of your character at least twice a month. 'Some show' refers to: an lj post, a quick thread, a regular thread, or a journal comments thread.) If you will be gone from game for more than a few days, don't be afraid to take a hiatus! Us mods will be keeping an eye on activity, but we understand if stuff happens. If we notice a character is falling behind, we might pop up and ask you about it. However, do be warned: if there has been an entire month without any character activity and without reason, your character might be dropped. If your character is dropped, you must wait one week before reapplying to the game.

2) Four character maximum

*

You may have a total of 4 characters. Initially, you are allowed to apply for two characters. After that, new characters will be granted once your other characters are proven to be active. Requests for more than 4 characters will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

3) AIM activity outside of game is not required

*

...But it is highly encouraged! We will be meeting in a group chatroom entitled fatearising. Feel free to drop in and meet everyone. There will be plot discussion, crack ideas, and general craziness-- and this is a great way to find threads.

4) Hiatusing/Dropping your characters

*

Life happens. Let us know if it happens to you. Just drop any of us mods a line to let us know you need a break for awhile, and an estimate of when you think you'll be back. That's it, have fun.

If life just gets too busy, you may officially drop your characters... But we'll miss you! Just be aware that once dropped, those myths are up for grabs for whoever wishes to play them. If you wish to return to the RP later and the gods are still free, you may re-apply for them.

In-Game Conduct

1) TAG YOUR THREADS.

*

Always tag a journal or log post with the name of the character who is posting. If you reply to a log, tag it with the name of the character replying. It helps to keep track of what your character has been involved in.

2) RATE YOUR THREADS.

*

Please be sure to properly label all threads according to their correct rating. There may be adult concepts in game. Post warnings as they arise. We do allow you to make your own judgement calls as to how graphic you will be with blood and gore, sexuality, etc, but please don't go overboard if there is no need.

3) Be aware of other players in game.

*

No threading of certain illegal activities in game, such as statutory rape. Just... don't do it. Use your own judgment; you should be able to figure out what's a good idea to log out and what is definitely not. If your character has drugs/gang violence/etc in their history, that's acceptable, but please just be aware of the feelings of other players and be careful about what you log about in game.

3) Contact current players when considering applying for a character with ties to characters already in game

*

Talk to people! We love new ideas and are always willing to help new people out. Because there are many variations of myths, it's hard to encompass all the different angles-- usually people take one approach and consider that to be their canon. Please work with the current characters and the canons already established, instead of imposing a possibly conflicting one of your own. It's easy enough to pop up in chat and throw a few ideas around before you app, and we'll try our best to be accomadating. Ideally, we would like everyone to be on the same page.
